stop trying to make Greystone a thing
Why all the hate on Greystone?
Absent some work on a couple greens ( which everyone has to do from time to time) the course is in good shape. No, I would not call it geat - - but it is a long, long way from some muni-trac.
Shorter, but you gotta make some different shots to be able to score. Folks are nice, the food is good, the cart girls steadily roll. I don't get the hate

He’s upset that LaTour is managed worse than Enron.

I want to join the BRCC. What do I do?
This is not exact but pretty close from what I am told by a couple of members:
1. Be a man (women can’t join as new members)
2. Complete an application for membership
3. Need sponsorship by two stockholder/senior members (no relatives)
4. Need at least three letters of recommendation from current members (no relatives)
5. Upon application approval, attend a meet the board cocktail party with your wife and sponsors.
6. Wait 60 days and see if you get approved for membership
7. Pay $30k+ initiation fee.

#1 has recently changed… you have to be big time though. Most recent lady in the past year runs one of the biggest companys in BR.

I figured it was only a matter of time for that requirement to go..

This lady might be the only one though, they are still behind the times and being very picky and choosy of who should be a member if you don’t fit the “mold”

No hate. But, when you list it in Top five when it has struggled mightily with greens for over two years then expect some push back. For Louisiana's abysmal golf scene, Greystone is a decent course.

It’s 6th if you include Carter and exclude private. Is that not fair? It only puts it above Webb, Dumas, and Copper Mill which currently has more poa annua than bermuda on their greens.

I know it's been talked about, but wanted to ask again.
My friend, the editor of Plugged in Golf, is looking at courses in the BR area. I moved out of LA in 1988. I know of CC of La and Carter's Plantation, that's it.
SO ..... if a good buddy was coming into BR, which top 5 courses would you recommend?
Why the frick did I get 2 down votes?
You guys are brutal.

This thread has more downvotes than stars in the galaxy… and we are all talking about the same courses lol

I would put Beaver over it all day the last two years. If they don't get their greens back up then Island over it all day. Greystone's greens were what made it stand out all these years. And they have been bad.

Sorry I didn't see all these qualifiers.
Yes top five in that case.

I'm guessing because Carter's and not Carter.

Used to be a member at Sherwood. Good memories.
I miss Briarwood...would love to play that one more time.
