Top Golf Thoughts

I am at an outing in Portland currently and it is great. I think it will have a good following in BR and will be very packed early on.
In the flip side, there is a big difference sitting heat in perfect temperatures with mount hood in the background and seigen lane with wards creek as a back drop.
I hope the price point keeps the low life’s away and it retains a upscale family atmosphere. Could be a nice addition to a town that is starving for something that isn’t LSU.
Just my thoughts.

I feel the bloom is off the rose with Top Golf. Will it be an abject failure, absolutely not. I just feel the hype around this place peaked 3-5 years ago and has subsided a bit. Just sort of feel like it’s too late to a certain extent.

Interesting take considering they are one of the fastest growing businesses in the country.

I actually like the simulator bars that are popping up now.

I play a lot of golf.
I guess I would go with a group, but I don’t like crowds.
I actually take off every Tuesday because that is the least crowded day at the club.
Top Golf sounds fun for a night with a mixture of novices and people who play golf.

I dont think Top Golf is for low handicap golfers. They are drawing the mid to high handicap crowd that is a golf fan. I would say a majority of scratch golfers who are serious about golf dont want to go every Friday night to hit balls with a bunch of drunk hacks. Not saying they would never go. You have to remember that 1% of golfers have a single digit handicap. The average for men is a 15 and 26 for the ladies. So Top Golf is smart in that they target a majority of golfers and non golfers that just want to go have some fun. Think Putt Putt.

Top Golf is fun if you want a different place to drink beer and have a few apps with friends. It’s not for serious golfers. It’s like a chili’s with golfballs

Top Golf is bowling for golfers. Bowling peaked before Reagan took office and they manage to stay afloat. I'm pretty sure Top Golf will do just fine still being a novelty in these areas

Pat Perez goes to the one in Scottsdale all the time
It’s not a driving range. It’s a place to go and hang out, drink beers, watch football, and hit golf balls all at the same time

i've been to the one in portland/hillsboro, you can't see mt hood even on a clear day , there's a huge mtn in the way.

BR is franchise/chain heaven, so TopGolf will do JUST fine. Vibe is all about hitting 10-15 balls/hour while having a few beers with the boys. Maybe have a few degenerate bets going on. A few OT6-8's walking around watching hacks shank it around.
I never turn down an opportunity to go when given the chance. Won't drive from Nola to go but when in BR, will consider 9 times out of 10.

TopGolf is not for golfers.
It’s a good time with a fun group, but it’s not really about the golf part.

It's a bar with a driving range not a driving range with a bar.
Think of it that way and you'll have a blast.

I wish it was in a different location because traffic already sucks over there.

gets expensive too. for the price you end up paying after a bucket or two of beers and an hour hitting +$5 member card you are better off actually playing golf
