I get what you're saying...
11-14 loop would be perfect.

I just hope I get an invite soon.
Getting too old for 6300 yards.
I would go anyway. Just hope for a par somewhere.
The greens are maintained at 13 and above daily. I’m told IF you get on the wrong side of the hole, 3 putts is solid for most people.

They were no where near that fast when I played there. But it had rained a lot the days leading up to the round and course was wet.

From what I have been told part of the need for allotment like this is due to the fact the course is only open for play 3-4 months of the year since they do so much work to make it perfect for the tournament each year. I think its only in playable condition somewhere around February to may or so.

I heard they don't really have dues, they add up what it cost to run the club and divide it up among the members equally.
This is what I have been told as well. And there is not a consistent number year to year, so one year it could be $80k, one year it could be $800k, but get that checkbook ready when the bill goes out.

Yes, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is a member of the Augusta National Golf Club. Not long after he became the richest man in the world in 1996, he received an invitation to join this esteemed club.

I don't really believe the corporate ownership angle.
Members also cannot play as much as they want. Funny story about Peyton becoming a member and playing a bunch with his buddies. He got a letter from the club saying he was suspended for 60 days for abuse of the course (i.e. playing too often).

Why wouldn’t they just stop booking his tee times? I know they limit them I just find it bizarre you could make it out there more than they want you to and they have to retroactively punish you for it.

I don't know about the allotment stuff you mentioned, but I do know that a guest can bring a camera and take whatever photos they want, when they want. I have played 4 times and I have photos of all the holes plus the par 3, pre recent renovation.

I knew it had a massive dead period but I figured it’d be immediately preceding The Masters rather than afterwards. In what window do members play golf there?

Get the book Freddie & Me....Life Lessons from Freddie Bennett..Augusta National's Legendary Caddy Master....written by Tripp Bowden. Tripp was born and raised in Augusta...son of a local surgeon . Freddie was a patient of Dr. Bowden ..he took care of Freddie and other caddies medical needs often free of charge. When Tripp was a kid Freddie started taking him fishing in the ponds of Augusta National and their friendship started. Tripp went on the play college golf and became the 1st Full Time White Caddy in the history of ANGC. He tells stories about the members he caddied for and what they were like and the guests they entertained. Funny stories and easy read!
