Do what?
For me:
8am 16 oz tea (1 green tea bag and 1 dark/smoky bag)
Noon 14 oz coffee, fresh grind usually drip, sometimes French press. Light or dark, depends on what I feel like. The light generally has more caffeine
That's it. On weekends, just coffee or tea around 8 and nothing later.

This is only a guess, but I'm assuming it's for the fats in the butter. He might count macros.

6:30 is wake up most days, and I'll have about half of a 16oz white monster. Finish it when I come home at lunch. And one Mountain Dew zero during the day. If I do anything else, it is some green tea after work.

5-hour energy first thing in the morning. I've been tempted to substitute in a caffeine pill instead of the 5-hour. Mostly because it's cheaper.

for those drinking lots of coffee....please make sure it is filtered and not french press. very important for overall health
you can google studies on filtered vs unfiltered coffee and the effects on all cause mortality.

I wake up and have a cup of coffee.
I have an espresso after lunch.
The end.

I've read about the lipids or cholesterol being a problem with French press. I don't do it often, but with certain beans it's way better. No worse than me eating fried chicken every few months.

I will, because you had a perfect platform to explain WHY and you....didn't

Correct. Also, it tastes pretty freakin' good.

I'd rather die than not drink espresso or moka pot coffee. My coffee routine in the morning is nearly sacred to me at this point.

Looking at that makes me feel good about myself.
5:15am Preworkout
7:30am Cup of coffee x 2
3pm Alani or Ghost (not every day)
But I will have the occasional Diet Coke mixed in also.

The only time I do French press is when we're on a camping trip. The troop has a couple of percolators, but there always are a bunch of grounds in there. I've got a little Stanley french press for camping. The filter screen at least keeps the grounds in the bottom and they don't end up in your cup.

Starting every day with a Monster? Sheesh, that just seems obviously bad for you.
It seems weird to NEED a substance like that to get through your day. For those of you that are addicted, when is the last time you weren't? Why not give it a go?
I'm doubtful of these observational studies that supposedly show longevity benefits, but you can get polyphenols in many other places.
I don't need studies to tell me I don't NEED to pour a drug down my throat every morning and throughout the day in order to function.
It's also annoying how disruptive servicing this addiction is when traveling with others.

I’d recommend to anyone to try a month without caffeine then pick it back up if you want. You’ll notice the difference.

On all of our trips, the driver determines the bathroom breaks and stopping for food. Passengers should plan accordingly.

That's the problem most caffeine addicts don't admit to. Your body adjusts to caffeine consumption so it has less of an impact. I used to take a lukewarm espresso shot 30m before the gym, but now that I can drive to the gym with traffic (not at 0430), the rage that naturally builds at retarded drivers (while listening to White Zombie, Megadeth, etc.) is perfectly sufficient.
I had a client where I was having to drink 48OZ of coffee after lunch to stay awake during the winter. That was no bueno.

quote:Sure. I'm talking. e.g. about business trips. It turns into an absurd comic ballet of people "having to have their coffee", and of course, the coffee in the room is never good enough. And the coffee in the lobby is never good enough. And some people don't like Starbucks. Always turns into a massive cluster of multiple stops. And those coffee places aren't exactly fast. And then people have to piss more because of all these diuretics they had to consume. Which is often done at a place where even more coffee is bought. etc.
On all of our trips, the driver determines the bathroom breaks and stopping for food. Passengers should plan accordingly.
Me? I had ice water in the room and am ready to go without all this nonsense the second I hit the lobby.

You're lucky I've had my coffee or I'd go off on you

I make a 20 oz thermos of pour over coffee with cream in the morning and don't drink any after 10:30 a.m. I never drink soda or energy drinks, as those are bad for you and cause all kinds of problems. I will occasionally drink kombucha, which has a small amount of caffeine. Pretty sure nothing else in my diet contains caffeine. Cutting sugar out of my diet has solved my energy crashes during the day.
