28 year old getting back into it. Posted a few weeks ago.

Don’t have the money for protein, pre, or creatine right now so just raw dogging it until payday.
Anyways, I’m still intermittent fasting (11:30-6:00), been eating a decent sized salad everyday with a small plate of school cafeteria food (usually only eat about half of it plus the fruit/veggie). And drinking lots of water throughout the day.

ETA: I sleep 10pm-6am. My eating window has been 11:30am-6:30pm for the last 5 years or so.

In the last 3 weeks almost half of the days working out hard, I about pass out after the workout. Today I went got my son from daycare after and almost passed out at the wheel. Made my way inside a gas station and ate a sausage link and a body armor and started feeling better.

Am I just not getting enough calories/protein during my first and only meal before working out? Trying to lose some body fat so trying to restrict my caloric intake. Excuse the ignorance for lack of knowledge! Thank y’all!

You’re probably getting hypoglycemic.

You are doing everything wrong.

I don’t know where to begin. You don’t need supplements. You need to freaking eat. If you just want to lose weight keep eating at a deficit but stop trying to kill yourself at the gym and at the table.

I lost 60 lbs. since last Labor Day. I eat at least 2000 calories a day and prioritize protein. But I eat garbage now and then as well.

And why is your eating window so late? If you are up past 11:30 and up at 6 you aren’t sleeping enough. Start with sleep.

Concensus is you aren't eating right.

I'm 47. I get up at 4AM and lift hard almost every day. Most of the time, I only eat an apple until I eat lunch. I've never passed out.

So you are either not eating enough or you are having a medical problem. Start with the simple solution and eat more. If that doesn't work then go see a Dr.

Quit eating this shite. Go to the store and fill the buggy up with eggs, beef, and fruit. Eat when you are hungry. Cut the carbs and sweets. Drink water and black coffee. Lift hard. Move/walk as much as you can. Park in the far parking spot, take the stairs. You’ll lose weight and won’t starve yourself.

Yea you’re going hypoglycemic bc you aren’t eating enough carbs. Your likely getting ready to burn your adrenals out and get your cortisol levels pretty elevated if you continue that dietary path.

Based on your description, I would guess you are eating something like 500-700 calories a day. Even athletes on cuts eat about 3 times that amount. You need to a A LOT more.

this

op

1) you are not sleeping enough. stop watching tv at night, put the phone away and be asleep by 10. it can suck, just do it. studies show outside of a caloric deficit the next most important factor for body fat loss is sleep. 8 hours of sleep and you burn way more body fat than 6 or even 7 hours. Research ive seen is essentially over a 14 day period, they had those in a caloric deficit cut back from 8 hours to 6 hours, participants lost 55% less from body fat just from the 2 hours. Sleep is huge

2) you do not need any supplements, you need to spend the money on dieting correctly. as mentioned, fill the buggy up with ground beef, ground turkey, chicken thighs and breast, fruit and if you like veggies, eat veggies. you need to be trying to get minimum of 0.8g protein per lbs of bodyweight but if you just stick to those foods you will be fine. Sounds like you are going hypo so eat before the gym

3) stop killing yourself. you didnt put the weight on in a week, you arent goign to take it off in that time frame either. Just lift progressively heavy on about 5 lifts per gym day. do 2-3 per week. walk the other days, trying to get min of 10k steps everyday but on days you dont lift, shoot for 15-20k.

tell us a little more on what you are doing in the gym.

and stop eating that salad and the cafeteria food unless its just backed chicken. all of that is processed to shite.

normally i tell people to count calories etc but sounds like you are perfect candidate for just going low carb or even carnivore for right now.

Thank you all for this! I am sleeping 10pm-6am. Edited my original post. In all transparency, I have the hardest time being consistent with eating plans and meal prep. I have tried it probably 10 times and cant ever go more than a few weeks max. I drink plenty of water during the day, dont eat sweets, I do drink coke on the weekends.

I workout about 4 times a week. Lift for about 45 minutes and do about 6 excercises.

You're most likely going too extreme with your diet. Ease up a little and it will be much easier to sustain. You don't have to live on 500 calories of rabbit food to make progress.

man i really suggest you start a real plan. either one from trainheroic, 531 or something like DB strength from PPSA. i highly suggest the db strength program for someone in your situation.

Sounds like your blood sugar is crashing hard. You need to drink a protein shake or something directly after, or even during your workout to keep it up.
