I have my physical tomorrow and my doctor always just checks the total testosterone.
Do I need to do a more detailed test that shows free testosterone?

I was around 300 when I got tested for the first time. I told them I had no symptoms and felt fine just wanted to see what my levels were. I've been on TRT for 16 months and realize I was missing out on feeling as good as I do now with total T just over 800 and free T in a good spot (forgot the exact number).

I mean you aren’t obese, but “genetically gifted” was an eye roller

Heart palpitations. There would be times in the gym where I thought I was going to have a heart attack - especially on leg day. I couldn't play with my kids without huffing after a minute. Lowered my libido and had ED. Also started with some weird digestive issues.
I tried lowering to 200 mg and 100 mg cyp, but kept having the same issues. I tried TRT for 5 months or so. Just had some crazy arse reactions to it I suppose. Been off for a while now, and feel great.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
I really would like to avoid TRT but I don’t want my quality of life to suffer for not doing it.
For the time being I’m going to focus on getting down to ~15% body fat (10 lbs) and see how I’m feeling. I’ll continue to do other things to support T production (I do take 9 mg of Boron every evening and have for about 4 months). I’ll probably push the Dr. for another test once I reach my BF% goal.
After reading a bit it sounds like total T can fluctuate depending on activity for up to 48 hours before. So my result may have suffered from having lifted heavy that morning, etc.

Well, I won't lie. This thread didn't turn out the way I thought it would.
