Yup. I will be rebuying almost everything. Fortunately, I started tomatoes at two different times, so I have a bunch that have not been outside yet.

At least we'll be able to plant after this...

Will they not make it through if you cover them? You have me more worried about mine now

OK, my statement was an assumption because this has never happened to me before. I will be taking as much protective action as possible and crossing my fingers.

All you need to do is keep them above freezing and keep frost off of them. You do that, they should be fine. They may get stressed, but will recover in warmer weather.

It’s one of the reasons I wait to direct sow them. Too much of a PITA.

I agree. I think you and I have discussed this before. Cucumbers are so much more successful for me when direct sowed. Squash do a little bit better, but man cucumbers are fickle when it comes to transplanting.

My late seed starting actually kinda worked out. The peppers I topped are already recovering pretty well and should be ready to plant out next week.

Kinda fortunate for me because I 100% would've planted everything out already if I would've seed started earlier .

Thanks, it's looking like it won't be below 32 for more than a couple of hours. Fingers crossed.

The only thing I have left to do is cucumbers. Can I plant seeds right after this spell?

I would wait for a couple of days of 55+ nights. Looking at the forecast for Covington, I probably wouldn't sow them for another week or so. Cucumbers like warm soil and colder temps will really slow their germination down.

I have 4 tomato plants, some of which already have flowers or tiny fruit, 5 cucumbers that were transplanted, two bell peppers and 3 bean plants that are now about 2-3 inches tall.

Forecast is supposed to be 37 sunday night...do I just cover them with a blanket?

Just digging around the house, it looks like I have enough shipping boxes and old sheets to do a box/sheet combo for the raised bed. Pots are coming in under the porch overhang and against the house.

Yes and keep the blanket from touching the leaves. Tomatoes and peppers ought to be fine covered. Cover the beans and cucumbers too, but they still may be 50/50. Just depends how cold it really gets.

I'm going to tarp my 14'x5' raised bed and throw a couple heat lamps inside in hopes the tarp will hold in some of that heat for my beans

The painted rocks are working great. Picked strawberries today with no holes pecked in them. Left 4-5 more almost ready on the plants for tomorrow.

I tried to get both plants focused but that was hard. What is up with this leaf browning? Both plants are the same and as you can see right next to each other. One has browning leaves and the other doesn't.

I’ve seen similar symptoms with drought stress or inconsistent watering. But that’s odd that the plant right next to it is healthy and that one isn’t.
