True, but, there’s always a but, for me it’s a weed in my Centipede. My front yard was a pretty solid showing Centipede example until this construction. Now I’m battling to return it to last years results.
Every centipede yard is on hospice whether the owner knows it or not. It will die on you no matter what you do. It may be 3 years it may be 5. But it will die.

I sincerely believe this.

you know while i am on the bermuda is a weed train, and my last house i fought and fought and fought, and was about it give up and let Bermuda go. I moved, and now i have a st aug/centipede mix. but i also have torpedo...... i nuked the area it was in last year and i just got that area back to being covered with grass.
I have seriously thought about saying frick it and live the Bermuda life but man i hate the small blade grass. but with torpedo it would be the best thing to do....

Quinclorac will do the trick and is a great all around herbicide.

Yes - sethoxydim. Active ingredient in Fertilome Over the Top 11, Hi Yield Grass Killer, Vantage, … some other brand names. Expect temporary yellowing on the surrounding centipede but it will recover. Also read the label before buying/using - if it calls for a mineral oil concentrate (not the same as surfactant) to be mixed with it, buy it to, and mix according to the sethoxydim label directions.
The Fertilome Over the Top II is working well. Put it down 10 days ago and there is significant browning of the Bermuda. The Centipede is doing well. I didn’t find the Oil Concentrate so I used a surfactant I have in hand.
Thanks for the recommendation CrawDude. Nice bonus, looks like I can use this in my Mondo grass as well

Yes you can.
In my experience, in my lawn, be aware that you’ll likely need to spray the Bermudagrass again at some point with Sethoxydim - it’s likely going to come back in the centipede so be persistence but do follow the label directions as frequency of spraying. Common Bermudagrass is tough.

Pretty damn nice for a weed lawn.

^^ Very nice. Type of Bermuda? Sod or seed? I have my work cut out for me to get where yours looks.

Looking good. Trying to convert my centipede to Bermuda now. Bought Yukon seed from Hancock. Filled yard with sand and seeding those portions. Hoping it takes over the rest of the centipede.

When laying new 419 Bermuda sod, would you put down a starter fertilizer the same day, like a 12-12-12?

I never have but you can. The tif varieties (419, tuff, and dwarf) are going to root very easy if they are watered.
I will say that if you cut your bermuda with a rotary mower and then switch to a reel mower you will notice a dramatic difference. I use a manual reel mower and you do have to sharpen the blades regularly but the cut is so much better.

I'll be going with 419. Thanks for the reply!
Any other recommendations besides water, water, water for the first few weeks? This will be my first time sodding anything with Bermuda.
Sorry to the OP for the hijack!

The more often you mow the better it looks and the thicker it gets.

Just know that it will come back. It will always come back. If you have full sun I would embrace the Bermuda.

Which one you got? I have a earthwise 7 blade I use in and off. My centipede has gone to shite so I’m rotary mowing at the minute. Trying to encourage some areas of Bermuda so I’m sort of spot reel mowing. The earthwise has been great. Also nice to have in the summer when you need to mow in the evening or while the grass is still wet.
