This is like being concerned a 2027 recruiting class is ranked outside the Top 50 in January 2026.
In other words, it's a stupid concern due the timing.
We aren't even 5 full days into the portal even being OPEN, even when it closes in LATE January for everyone (5 days after NC game), players can still choose schools at their leisure without the portal being "open".
In other words, stop being a diva

This isn't NFL free agency. In college, i feel like you actually have a better shot to make money by waiting. There are 130+ FBS teams, with 100+ roster spots in the NCAA. Not 32 teams with 60 roster spots in the NFL.

I understand where you are coming from, as there was a lot of hype surrounding this portal period and if it’s your first time it makes sense to think we’d secure the best class oat in the first few days.That however is not how this works. I think OM winning has certainly slowed how many commits we’ve gotten to this point.
I for one think it makes more sense to go through this process the right way and take your time as kiffin is doing. Lots of desperate teams are signing as fast as possible and throwing as much cash as they can at these guys. But as everyone has pointed out you can sign whoever doesn’t have to be during the 2 week period. I think Kiffin is doing his due diligence making sure he evaluates and gives each person a value and then allows them to visit and meet with the staff. Quality over quantity. No reason to rush the process, let’s make sure we get the best guys.
If it helps log off for a week and come back and see if that helps

In coming years, you're going to take the roster number (probably 90ish) of schollies, add the incoming freshmen (probably a dozen), subtract the graduating seniors, and that final number is going to be how many you need to add in the portal.
Players will either: enter from HS, graduate/declare for NFL, go into the transfer portal (whether or not they stay with current team - just to negotiate).
All deals will be 1-year deals. So, if the staff messes up and overpays, that's on them. If they do well by the player, they will have to compete with every other team for him, every year.

Remember that we were a 6 loss team last year with an entire new coaching staff coming in. LSU was literally set for an entire roster change with the shite I watched last season, look at Kiffin’s history with the portal and just trust the process… it’s still very early on.
