You absolutely take him. He already knows the offense. We are probably taking two from the portal. We have no QB room right now.

Considering the lack of depth and the needs we will have, it would be smart to try and keep MVB, even if you expect him to end up 3rd string. 3 QBs out of the portal will be expensive.

I feel the same way about Simmons. If you clean get the friends and family discount with him knowing Kiffin and this offense, do it and then spend more on someone like Levitt.

The dad is pretty crazy and very hands on from what I hear. Doesn’t Simmons play baseball too?

I would be shocked if Lane didn't take him with him when the season is over.

Was coming to ask this. Isn’t he a pretty good baseball player or am I thinking of the wrong person?

Sam Leavitt is far better than Austin Simmons. I hope we don't settle on Austin. He hasn't been "great". Leavitt can make all the throws and run when he needs to.

I haven't seen him play but if he was starting over Chambliss, he has to be better than Van Buren?

Extremely low standard, but yes, absolutely.

The point is we can get a top tier quarterback to come to LSU to play for this staff. We don’t want to muck up that chance by settling for midtier talent..
