We lost the locker room and leadership. A couple of years ago. We lost 26 guys. We and the local media tended down a star worship system.

Too bad Wade was such a shitty coach and could not do much with all the talent he and his wife purchased. At least Kansas, Duke & Auburn could make deep runs in the tourney with their purchases.

Coaching staff piecing this back together the best they can for now. Just trying to field a team at this point. This is a long road back.

I disagree with that assessment. This does not have to be and doesn't seem to be headed towards a long road back. The portal has changed everything when it comes to building and filling out a roster. We could definitely put out a team next year at or close to the same level as this year's team. You can easily make the argument that we are already better or at least a wash at several spots on the roster compared to last year. Now we have to continue to land at least another 2-3 solid transfers but that is very doable if not likely. In today's college basketball you can turn over your entire roster every year and still be ok or even better the following year with the portal and transfer rules. Barring any sanctions which aren't likely to come before next year anyway I don't see why we can't be a possible tournment team next season.
