Chambliss is literally in the final 8 of the playoffs running our coach’s offensive system while leading the conference in passing yards while not starting the first 4 games of the year

There is no better option than Chambliss for next year

I bet we reach out to Duece Knight too. Lagway is going to get 3 million plus. He’s going to Baylor or ACC. No way we should pay him 3 million plus.

Can't you qualify for multiple medical redshirts? If that's the case, not sure what would prevent him from getting another one due to this situation here where he lost eligibility that year. Unless he took a medical redshirt already for that year.

If he gets turned down he's just going to sue them. Just hand him over to LSU and be done with it. NCAA is costing him money.

I think the issue is that they want some sort of statement from a medical professional at the time, indicating that he was unable to play that season for medical reasons. For me, Tonsillitis would seem like a fishy reason not to have been able to play an entire season.

I feel like some of what his lawyer said kind of indicates that it will be the next step.

Looking like Chambliss won’t get the waiver… move on. Ole Miss will “overpay” if he does

Especially considering it supposedly started in August before the season and he ended up playing 2 games that year. It wasn’t a season ending medical issue.

Leavitt is hurt. Lis franc surgery and won’t be available for spring even. That takes a long time to recover completely.

The 2 games would not be problematic; you have to miss 60% of the season due to a medical reason, if I recall the rules correctly. I just don't see it based on what he has said.

Lagway getting $3m? I know he was a top QB coming out of high school but geez. Dude should be begging to come get coached by Kiffin.

I don't know that I would just move on before an actual ruling, but I get it though. The portal is coming up. LSU will do what they need to do.

I'm not an expert, but is it not something to be concerned about?

I once read like 66% of athletes return to their prior form or get better? Again, I am just asking about the recovery with athletes when it comes to this injury. I've always heard concerning things.

quote:

A Lisfranc injury is very bad for a QB, often season-ending, requiring months of recovery (up to a year) due to severe ligament/bone damage in the midfoot, impacting running, planting, and cutting, with risks of chronic arthritis, though many NFL players do return, sometimes with reduced performance initially. It's a significant setback, as it affects the stability needed for explosive movements crucial to playing quarterback, as seen with players like Jake Locker, Cam Newton, and Matt Schaub, who all dealt with this injury.

I'm not saying I would pass on Leavitt though. It's just really tricky. Especially considering how bad LSU needs QBs.

I agree with you thought that Joseph is not even close to Chambliss right now.

If he played two games, then had a medical issue that shut down his season, it wouldn’t be an issue. It’s the timing that’s off. He had a medical issue, then came back to play two games. It’s difficult under that set of circumstances to argue that his medical condition ended his season.

Fastest way this gets settled is him committing to LSU. He will immediately get a two game ban.

This is where I fall. If I were on the committee making this decision, I would deny it.
