first day of classes - does it matter?

i guess i need to start by apologizing - i did search but didn't see this.
with first day of LSU classes tomorrow I would think players in the portal interested in LSU really need to get on it asap. Does anyone know how this works? i guess they could always commit/sign but not come until the summer, but that doesn't seem smart. i cant imagine there is a long window of time after the first day of class to still enroll (even with the athletic departments influence)

Late registration deadline is January 22nd this semester. They have until then.

To be eligible in the spring, I believe they have to enroll by the 20th give or take. However, believe we can still sign guys to be eligible for summer after that I assume.

Think I heard you gotta be enrolled by something like 23rd to be eligible for spring ball. I may have dreamt that shite up though.

They have a last day of enrollment, I thinks it’s the 22nd. If they want to participate in spring practice I believe they need to be enrolled by that day.

Is it even required that players go to school? I don’t hear student athlete or academic eligibility much anymore.

I know - first day is today. My son is senior graduating in May. Whew.
