It’s true, but we would have had it last year without Bo Pelini and the Title IX scandal.

Just to clarify,.. it would be 2nd year Nuss, but not likely Soph Nuss. Unless you seriously think Nuss comes in and plays in 5 games this season, with Max and/or TJ still in the wings as well. While possible, it’s rather preposterous.

If Brennan wins the job, Max isn't going anywhere, unless he's 3rd - and I don't see much chance of that.

While I’ll agree to say it’s not likely, there is certainly a fair enough chance. I mean the 2 guys who started before him last season or both still on the team. If TJ settles down and impresses the new staff, then there’s certainly a chance. The same HC who approved the QB depth chart last year is still here. The new OC & PGC are the wildcards.

The end consequence is that we accept not getting the #1 high school tight end in the country, thats all there is to it in this case.

No, that is not all there is to it. There is no absolute saying Max is out of here if he doesn’t start. I would even venture to say it’s highly unlikely he bolts if Myles takes back the job.

This is where people are calling out your crap.

Once again, what I said was absolute is if Max transfers then Jake Johnson doesn't sign here. That is what is absolute.

I never said if Max doesnt start or play he is guaranteed to transfer. The only guarantee is that if he decides to transfer, Jake ain't coming here. That is the hard fact that nobody on this forum seems to want to accept. Because people don't like that fact doesn't make it any less true.

If anybody thinks Jake even considers coming here if Max were to transfer is not living in reality. Giving me an infinite amount of meaningless downvotes on an LSU message forum don't change that. I'm not sure why anybody gives a rats arse about clicking on a green up arrow or red down arrow. Their meaning is as worthless as the time it takes to do it.

I was mainly saying “soph” to designate a second year. But he’s prob the most talented QB in the room, and if there is movement with TJ and/or Max, it won’t be all the preposterous

I don’t think there’s any way in hell they bench Myles. They’ve been pumping him up for years that he’s the guy.

Nah. If Myles throws a couple interceptions that result in a losss, you don't think Orgeron would play the next best QB?

I have heard nothing about Max transferring, I'm just making the point that in theory if he doesn't play at all this year, because John Daly Jr(take a look at the latest pictures of Brennan on the rant) beats him out, it could be a possibility.

My point was always that if for whatever reason Max isn't here, then neither will Jake.

Anyone that thinks Max Johnson would even consider transferring after not winning the starting job as a redshirt/Covid freshman, needs to go read a bit about Brad Johnson's history at Florida State.

The Johnsons are not quitters.

If the defense had been sturdy, Finley might never have lost his starting job. We could barely win with no turnovers. Turnovers turned wins into loses and and into blowouts.

It would probably be in our best long term interest that Brennan not regain the starting QB role, if we are going to land Jake.

you don't base who your starting QB will be based on whether the brother of one of the candidates is going to be upset about it. Who ever is the best player starts and if that is Brennan, then so be it, still doesn't mean that Johnson transfers anyway.

Finley wasn’t good at all outside of the SC game

I think everyone on this board who follows recruiting at all is aware of that. The point you seem not to understand is that that matters zero amount in determining who the starting QB should be in 2021.
I can't see any recruit wanting to commit to a coach who would take those sort of things into consideration when he makes out a depth chart.

He was better in the Arkansas game all things considered.

The SC game was basically going through the motions for him. He faced almost zero pressure all game, the run game was going big time, he barely had to throw the ball, it was a blowout pretty quickly and made a bunch of easy throws with the time he had practically no pressure on him with running game and line playing so well.

In Arkansas game he faced a little more adversity and simply had to make harder throws in a tight game and make way more plays himself.

He actually didnt even get graded out well in the USC game, but did quite well in Arkansas game. But the SC game was really just going through some easy motions overall.

And say Max starts and plays out of his mind next season. How does that affect what happens with Finley, Nussmeier, Howard, Manning with Max still having 3 years of eligibility?

If he’s that good he’ll declare for the NFL after his junior year.

And what if he doesn't? Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, Matt Leinart, Sam Bradford, Eli, Peyton, Brees, Justin Herbert.....

There are plenty of QB's that were top 10 locks that chose to come back.

all I was saying is the consequence of Max not starting or sitting on the pine all year, may very well be a transfer.

Sounds like you expected it to me. I don’t expect him to transfer is Myles starts at all.
