DJ Lemahieu is involved in a summer league team in Michigan that is joining the Northwoods League. The Royal Oak Leprechauns were in the Great Lakes League (Cade Beloso, before his freshman year, is the only player we've sent to that league IIRC).
This is the second team that the Northwoods League has absorbed from a smaller league this offseason. The Prospect League also absorbed a couple teams from a smaller league, including the team Kaleb Applebey pitched for.
Overall, I think this is a good thing. The Northwoods and Prospect Leagues are well run leagues with good competition. The number of Prospect League teams isn't changing, the new teams are replacing teams that are folding.
Overall this is shrinking the number of summer teams a little bit, but there are still way too many. Every league struggles to the finish line every year because there is just no pitching left.
Teams don't send enough guys out to get innings anymore, or they get shut down early. Cutting out a few teams from around the country will add some pitchers to the population for other teams to pick up.

We have 5 catchers on the roster currently with the certainty of losing two and the possibility of losing a third. And one of the remaining two is cross training at two other positions.
We were assuredly getting an experienced catcher for next season, it’s exciting that we’re gettin one with experience under this staff and is local.
He’s been tearing it up in juco and played this summer with Frey, Moffett, and Paul.

Awesome I’ll go with this

Priester was a big time prospect coming in, maybe not as big as he thought he was but still a good grab even before he had experience.

Dean Moss, a big time 2025 player that we have been recruiting for a while, seems to have backed off his Vandy commitment. He's from California but goes to IMG.

Minjae Seo 2025 RHP (MJ Seo's little brother) has just decommitted from Vandy and reopened his recruitment.

Dang, two decommits for Vandy in a short time. Just a coincidence or is something going on?

The Seo Bros. I like it!

Hopefully Jay Johnson and the LSU Tigers is what's going on.

Minjae is also the teammate of current LSU commit Marcos Paz.

If Vandy actually had enough fans to have a message board, we might be able to find some info about this.

MJ must be liking LSU so much that his conversations with his brother made him rethink his decision......at least that is what I will tell myself for now.

I'm curious if Corbin is contemplating retirement after this year. It could also just be a coincidence.

Jay is about to put alot of coaches into early retirement

Having to listen to the whistler every home game would be enough for me not to sign with Vandy.
