Dawson Willis signed a UDFA deal with the Padres. CJ Willis' little brother that played this season at Oklahoma.

When are are Louisiana kids cable or playing in the SEC, JJ will get them to campus! Otherwise he will continue to recruit Nationally!

Coach Johnson is the best recruiter in the nation in my opinion. My only point is that I think the culture of this team will suffer in the long run if the players are 90% out of state players. If you only take one or two in state guys every year that’s where we’re heading.
I don’t think it’s a big deal. I believe Jay knows how to bring in the right culture guys on the roster, no matter where they’re from.
Kade, Brown, Frey, Pearson, and Mayers were the only La kids who were major contributors this past season. Throw in Primeaux if you want. You have guys like Hernandez who grew up in PR dreaming of playing for LSU. Same with Milam. My 10yo son has friends at school running around with LSU hats on because they like the baseball team and they’ve never stepped foot in Louisiana.
There are kids all over the country who have ties to Louisiana and I don’t necessarily think these kids have to grow up in the shadows of The Box to understand the culture and legacy behind LSU baseball.

And JUCOs. They keep tabs on a lot of Louisiana HS kids that end up going JUCO. Similar to Harden this year, I think they're going to keep an eye on Clapinski at LSUE.
Cool
That makes me feel better about it.

Thanks. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Pearson win the 3B job.

Where are you getting scoop on signings?
Cant find on Spottrac and too lazy to look up the twitter for every teams beat writer.

Baseball America and their writers on twitter.
Carlos Collazo breaks a lot of signings. Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo from MLB.com break a lot too.

Does anyone know why the Frederico kid is leading off for ole Miss
probably because a .244 hitter wouldn’t be playing in our outfield this year.

CF Curiel

Reaves will get 1st shot to start at 2B or 3B

Feel a lot better about the state of the roster post-national championship for 2026 than I did for 2024.

We won’t have many at all after a few recruiting cycles like this.
The questions to ask are:
1) Who did we not go after who has proven to be SEC-caliber?
2) Who did we go after who chose to go elsewhere?
3) Was there an available starting opportunity for any of those players?
4) Did we sign someone from out-of-state in their place?
It's easy to say we aren't signing enough local kids, but who have we missed on? Like if we didn't sign a LA kid because we signed Curiel and Milam instead, I'm 1000000000% okay with that lol. And without answers to these questions, it's a moot point imo.

Exactly.

Wow! I really thought we'd be done with adding bats after the Yorke addition. Do we expect more attrition? Because that's an unreal amount of depth on the infield.

And Dardar and Simpson will gets looks at 1B/DH. Pearson and Yorke aren't lineup locks.
I like the versatility of this group alot, and that's not naming everybody. I thought it would be lefty heavy but it's really not bad.
ETA: Holy cow with Caraway now.

Damn, Caraway too. I really liked him when I watched him. When I first saw his name in the portal I thought no way.
He could take a serious leap & be an all conference type player

The Oregon State boards are probably a circus right now.
They were when he entered, but folks assumed he was headed to pro ball.

I agree with myself even more now than I did 13 minutes ago.
