Clearly can control pretty well, but I wonder how successful a DII pitcher could possibly be at the highest college conference level with only 80 K in 100.1 IP with nearly 100 hits allowed as well from DII. Sounds like he would get knocked around pretty bad in the SEC.

Haven't seen this posted, nor do I see anything official, but 64 analytics has Mic Paul committed to Washington
Decent landing spot for him. I wonder if Jay put in a good word for him with Eddie Smith.

Yea his K and hits numbers aren’t too impressive

Yeah, I would have to think if this move were made it would be strictly due to the need for another lefty and/or we have a lefty now on the roster that won't be there

He asked a reasonable question of why you think a kid won’t make it to campus and your reply was “because I said so”. Sounds like the only one needing to grow up and get a life is you.

Happy for Mic. He was a great teammate by all accounts

Still thinking LSU is done with this portal window.

I think they might be too.

I think if Reddeman or Volchko want in they’re takes.
Outside that I suspect we’re done!

Interesting comments from Mainieri at his press conference yesterday about roster limits: (looks like those that fall under DSA category won't count against 34 man roster limits - not sure who that would be for LSU. Also, they will be redshirting a player due to injury so maybe Aase ends up doing that if he's not fully healthy.
Mainieri mentioned that South Carolina is at its 34-man roster limit and that they have three players who are Designated Student-Athletes. Those players do not have to count against the 34-man roster. He has 17 pitchers and 17 position players. He also informed us that incoming freshman Brandon Cromer Jr. is going to be redshirted this season after Tommy John surgery.
I don't think Stipp would be a starter here, likely another bullpen option
As far as Downs and Griffin, both will likely sign pro contracts as will Malachi Washington
Yorke stats against Vandy, Texas Tech, Oregon and Arizona are pretty impressive, both from power and average

Damn, he is absolutely tearing it up! I hope he can take a big leap next year, he absolutely has potential to be big for us next year!
wait, I didnt notice the second line, so that last line was his most recent outing, but the top I'm guessing doesn't include has last outing?

Malachi Washington is hitting bombs out of mlb parks and Jordin griffin is still 5’8”
They aren’t really the same
Downs is also a B or C tier prospect compared to Washington

Top is his statline for the summer, the 2nd line is his most recent outing.

Yamin's stance and swing remind me a ton of Frey. Now when he gets out of the box, you can immediately tell he does not have Frey's athleticism
I guess living together only rubbed off in certain areas.

Anyone else find it ironic that Baseball America has LSU as one of the losers in the draft but Tennessee as one of the winners? I think both have the most top 100-120 HS prospects heading to campus. Just seems funny to me.

This isnt BA rankings, rather PG, but that is definitely weird.
Here's how the SEC as a whole stacks up right now:
LSU 5 potentially 6 Top 100; 8-9 Top 200
Texas 4 potentially 5 Top 100; 8-10 Top 200
TN 4 potentially 6 Top 100; 7-9 Top 200
MSU 2 potentially 3 Top 100 6-7 Top 200
Ark 2 potentially 3 Top 100; 5-6 Top 200
A&M 2 potentially 3 Top 100; 3-5 Top 200
Bama 1 potentially 3 Top 100; 3-5 Top 200
AU 1 potentially 2 Top 100; 4-5 Top 200
Vandy 1 potentially 2 Top 100; 3-4 Top 200
UGA 1 potentially 2 Top 100; 2-3 Top 200
OU 1 Top 100; 1-2 Top 200
Kentucky 1 Top 100, 1 total Top 200
Florida 0 Top 100, 3 Top 200
Ole Miss 0 Top 100, 3 top 200
....
South Carolina and Missouri 0 Top 200
LSU Texas and Tennessee have the clear cut best classes post draft, with the 11-20 rd guys still a little in flux in terms of that might change but only in a minor way probably. Everyone else only has 2-3 Top 100 overall ranked recruits max where as Tennessee, Texas and LSU will have minimum 4 up to 6.
Florida definitely most surprising to me here, no idea what happened with O'Sullivan this class. Mainieri wouldnt have had a huge impact necessarily on the 2025 class for USC but goes to show why they are portaling in a whole new team basically (17 portal commits). UGA actually has 21 portal commits which is insane with a 34 roster limit.

Did we lose more of our top-end recruits to the draft than Tennessee did? Only thing I can think.
