Tenn may have spent a ton of $ but it didn’t even get them to Omaha and lsu also lost several that ended up at ark

I still think the best teams won’t necessarily be all about $

My bigger concern is if lsu is falling behind from a rev share does Jay get poached by another school

Scott better be working on that raise

Jay has been more concerned with fit than a big splash. The better fit guys are going to be less concerned with the money. And the money takes care of itself as time goes on. The model has worked for Jay. The big splash guys were also good fits. I don't think Jay will ever be a guy that just outbids for the big fish.

Right. I can guarantee you that Arkansas gave Root more than we gave Eyanson. I think we got a much better return on our investment.

Jay said early on we were going to selective in the portal this year. We return a lot more key pieces (especially pitching wise) than we did the past two seasons. No reason to turn over half your roster.

I don't think LSU even spent as much as they would have if Frey or Jones or Moss would have elected to play for LSU next season. They had a ton allotted for Frey if he returned. I don't think that money was spent in total. Maybe Carraway and Yorke got a chunk. I tend to think Cooper Moore's money was separate and already alloted. Obviously Simpson and Dardar's was. Point being, I don't think it's as simple as we have X amount and we spend it all no matter what on the best of whatever's available. I think each player is evaluated individually and offered what they're deemed to be worth.

Do we feel like Beck, Fontenot, and Benge will go through fall practice with us, then each will reevaluate his future?

Beck kinda seemed to me like he wants to be on the team regardless. Benge and Fontenot probably want to pitch but I think they will pitch here.

I wasn't sure if Beck still had eligibility because if he does, I'd enjoy seeing what he can do with more at bats this year. He had a good career before coming to LSU. He couldn't get more opportunities because of that lineup last year.

I think Yamin could be much better offensively over beck

I don’t see it.

They played Vandy 1 game on a Friday night and lost. They played a series against Oregon and lost. Of course, neither of them were in a super regional.

The next best team they played in a series was USC and they lost that too.

They drew UTSA in a super regional.

In Omaha they only beat Murray State and weren’t all that competitive against LSU and Arkansas.

I agree with all of this. There is so much talk of "returning players", but that wasn't a super impressive team. Top heavy on offense, and very few pitchers with swing and miss stuff, which got exposed in Omaha. Sure, they'll be good, but I'm just not buying into the inflated hype.

Arrimbede needs to pack it in for the summer and shoot some teal birds and let his mind reset. 27Ks in 52 ABs is rough. He will figure it out though. He’s got to

the cape is the best of the best for college baseball
when you have limited at bats during season it makes it really hard to go to the Cape and thrive
those at bats will help him tremendously heading into fall with the pitching he saw this summer
plenty of really good college players have struggled on the Cape, I wouldn't read a ton into it at this stage

People don't want to hear it but penciling in Arrambide is the same as penciling in Neal and Kling in 24 and we saw how that went. Hopefully it doesn't go the same but there's definitely no competition with any kind of proven track record at catcher.

Yamin and Serna will get a crack. Hopefully one separates but I expect all to compete and the best defender to start opening day.

I want Arrambide and Yamin to both succeed, and Serna too for that matter, but those two specifically after witnessing their dugout energy during the postseason run

Updated transfer portal post on front page.

Reddemann to UCLA
BJ Bailey to Tampa

On Kyle Rizy, it appears he is starting real life as a post from O&G Building has him hired in late June as a project engineer

quote:

Please join us in welcoming Kyle Rizy to the O&G Building Group team as the new Project Engineer on the Windermere Elementary School project in Ellington.

Kyle recently joined as a Project Engineer on the Windermere Elementary School project in Ellington. He graduated this spring from Bryant University with a degree in Project Management and brings with him the drive and discipline of a Division I baseball player, having competed at the highest collegiate level during his time at Bryant.

Off the field and outside of work, Kyle is passionate about mentoring young athletes and enjoys coaching in his free time. When he’s not on the job site or at the ball field, you can find him spending quality time with family or out on the golf course.

Welcome aboard, Kyle — we’re excited to have you on the team!

looks like LSU may be done in the portal
if no one worthy is left in the portal or from high school class why waste a spot
sounds like Reddemann was last domino to fall
