Eades has a nice long interview with Coach Jordan & he dropped a few tidbits just in passing comments. He said that Standfield dropped in just to talk but also said he, Stanfield, felt he was ready for pro ball Did not say he was leaving / staying but that comment speaks volumes. Coach also said, when asked what players from this year's team he was excited about, that Peterson was a real power hitter & had the capability of playing 3rd, along with 1B. "Just depends what happens with other players continuing to develop." Said that in Omaha's BP, players stopped to watch his power hitting.

Did you mean Pearson? Or is there a Peterson I don’t know about?

I am hearing this as well. Pitch was made for him to stay. Actually heard same to the freshman who left. No promises were made to any of them but CJJ liked their skills enough to keep them here. All of the young men opted to go look for FT opportunities and I get that. Like the OP said these guys just want to play baseball…not platoon, not cheer, but actually play FT. Give me a FT role any day vs PT, even if it means less winning and more getting reps.

...remember when the draft was in the middle of the cws... it was IMPOSSIBLE to keep players focused on their games... and then, players had to sign before classes began... players would have escorts when they wanted, and on first day of classes, mlb team representatives would try to keep players from actually entering their 1st class, sometimes stationing themselves at the door into the classroom to not let the player slip past...

I can remember being a sophomore on our high school team and the score being lopsided late in the fourth quarter, and as a defensive player, wanting our offense to go 3 and out just so I got a chance to play lol
thats in a game when we were up 40 or some shite but still, people want to play and some would rather play than win

Wonder if the 35 roster limit is going to put a premium on duel position players like Beck & Guidry?
With the attention that Ohtani is getting in the bigs, I could see a premium on guys like Jake Brown who can play a position and also pitch if needed.

Anybody heard anything else about the Oregon St pitcher that visited LSU recently?
Someone might’ve posted about him in this thread but may have missed it.

Entering the portal is over, but entering the next team is not? Trying to interpret retard is difficult.

There is an actual portal entry deadline that has passed.
There is a functional portal exit deadline of enrollment at the next spot.
This is not including the new portal term dealing with DSAs that I believe is open now.

Mea culpa. Pearson, not Peterson.

Tennessee will have some players transfer to Tampa and get them to transfer to Tenn after to exploit that loophole
It almost worked this past season but Osuna had to sit out entire year

Are you under the impression that they encouraged Osuna to transfer to Tampa?
Are you also under the impression that transferring to Tampa was necessary for Osuna to attempt to get another year of D1 eligibility?
Because both of those are retarded assumptions.
