If he comes here, we can just call him Alphabet.

We offer this guy but not G. McDowell. I don't get this move.

His mother's family is from here which is why his sister enrolled at Southern. His mother is in the military

If he ends up here, his name would have to begin at the bottom of his left pant leg, arc at his shoulders, and down his right pant leg.

I was not that impressed by his film (it was junior film so maybe he grew a little more), but he is undersized and was pretty easily blocked given it is a highlight reel.
Comparing him to JC does not do JC justice. Copeland had like 18 sacks or TFL in a highlight from one season at his GA HS. Copeland flew off a highlight reel unlike many prospect films ever. He just didn't have the height to play the position at the next level.

Watched his junior film from the link on here and was pretty underwhelmed.
Then I watched this....
SENIOR HIGHLIGHTS
Now I hope we pull this dude really badly. He looks much bigger than in his junior film. He now looks like a big nasty violent some b!tch chasing down kids sideline to sideline.

If the staff is looking to add depth at DT immediately McDowell isn't going to do that. He's light in the pants at what 250? He would have to add 40-50 lbs to play DT. This Lealaimatafao kid looks like he's at 300 lbs already and would be able to contribute much sooner.
Also size & build wise McDowell looks alot like Copeland in high school. Which is why I guess LSU likes him at FB.
Lealaimatafao looks like a meaner Mickey Johnson to me.

Dayum! That is one violent young man. Appears to use his hands and his strength very well, sheds blocks well. Would love to have him, but he has nose tackle written all over him.

What's not to get? The coaches (the experts, after all) think the guy with the funny name is better than the local guy.
I've never seen McDowell play, but several posters have noted that he's lazy, and only plays hard every now and then. If true, we should avoid him like the plague.

Dude tackles like a sumo wrestler.

I know Rivals are excited to see us get one of their 3 star players. Maybe Kelly to. Now none of these 3 star players maybe be a 3 but could be 4's, but everyone now were probably "backburners".

On the other hand the coaches must not be too confident in getting Valentine. Wow! The best talent we have had in LA in dozens of year and Les seemed to have dropped the ball.

FWIW. Perroni just cb this guy to LSU this morning. cb projections are pretty accurate right.

McDowell did not overwhelm at LSU summer camp and that's when a lot of decisions are made. LSU has been upfront with McDowell with possibility of playing FB due to his size and they see the next JC Copeland in him. He wants to play DT and Ole Miss wants him there. At least LSU is being upfront with him and he can prove his point to LSU in the future.

while I think a lot of CB projections are wishful from homers, Perroni is pretty good about them and would be about as plugged into this situation as any while being impartial (A&M is not recruiting him).
So I'd say it's a fairly meaningful CB but I also think that he's going to end up at LSU so maybe I just give it more creedence because we're in agreement

Does it seem like we are scrambling now to fill these spots? I think it kind of looks bad when you are a few weeks from signing day and making new offers.
