If we can get the OL situation to be serviceable/respectable. We could have a surprisingly strong season. The end of the season is a brutal stretch for anyone but we could see us competing to get into the playoff. 9-3 or better is on the table but it all hinges on how the OL plays. But I really like the players we have going into next season from returning players, portal players, and incoming freshmen.

the portal has replaced recruiting HS players as the key to success. If you want to compete for championships, you better have some rich, generous alumni.

What percentage of last years class is still here? Two years ago? Three years ago? High school recruiting has changed. You only sign guys who will be on the two deep immediately. Others will be a wasted spot because kids want to play now regardless of where they sign. Tell a kid to consider ULL/Tulane and if they break out, you'll get them again in a year or two and if they don't oh well. There's not really loyalty anymore. This is a business. It also happens to be a business in the Wild West.

I am going to rate the portal thusly:
Who does Kiffin want ?
How many is he able to get?
He will have multiple options at each position and this year he has been successful 4 out of 5 times.
We expected a huge flurry of ole miss players but instead the class has come from all across the country from every conference big and small

I think with Caleb Williams being a package deal to USC, that portal class needs to have an asterisk by it.
