I'll put his high school numbers, rings, and MVPs against anyone on the roster.

ETA: Just like I'll do the same with Tebow in college. Doesn't mean he'd transition to the next level.

Sounds like a MSB topic then. Doesn't recruiting typically involve transitioning to the next level?

Looks like his baseball game transitioned quite well.

So all of the football stat/high school accomplishment comparisons to LSU's receivers....was actually about his baseball projection?

Can you people stop bumping these old threads about how Mark is good at baseball now? shite yal have been doing this since the start of the baseball season..

Yes the people from NELA who watched him play knew he had the ability and others doubted.

Who the frick cares. You dont have to go around trying to prove you were right about it. Move on and enjoy the fricking season. frickING A

I didn't bump the thread. But to answer your question, most thought he was a better football player than baseball. To see him do so well in baseball might have some wondering how he would have done in his best sport. Personally, I think he made the right choice as it would've taken a few years with Moffitt to be physically ready for the freaks in the SEC. Glad the kid is succeeding when most doubted he would ever do anything at LSU in any capacity.

Mind your business dude . He said he only mention that he had better stats and that was a lie. Dude thinks better reciever and better stats mean the same thing so your quote just proved my point to. Thanks

If that's the logic you are using, you'd better reassess your claim. I may also add that calling JJ a troll is very laughable. He brings a lot to this board and for you to inject yourself into this thread, albeit the recruiting board in general, and start making accusations is pretty childish.

He doesn't have near the upper-body strength he would need. In truth, he will also be a much better baseball player when he can hit for power. He has 31 hits so far but no HR or triples and only 3 doubles and 7 rbi. As much as he is contributing right now, he'll be able to do much more after a year in the weight room.

Classic bump. This is how you expose the pretenders from the players.

Well played.

How's it a classic bump? The thread is about football not baseball

Exact opposite. Not one person in this thread said that he wasn't good enough to play baseball at LSU.

Maybe not in those exact words:

I have said this before. An athlete who is special on a baseball field is at best average on a football field. On a football field you have guys like Jeremy Hill or Mingo that probably can run with Laird (they might be a little slower) but outweigh him by 50 plus pounds. Katz and Rymes don't exactly set the bar for all around athleticism. It is much easier to stand out with athleticism on a baseball field. These football players are monsters. Laird made the right decision. Leave the big boys to play football. I am saying this and I love the way Laird plays the game. Maybe he could have been another Jack Hunt but he was smart enough to keep his body away from that punishment.

This is flat out dumb. Bo Jackson, John Elway, Matt Mauck, Russell Wilson, Deion Sanders, Dan Marino, Tom Brady, Jim Brown all players who were drafted and or played in the MLB and had incredible football careers with exception to Mauck, but I said him cuz he is an LSU guy. And Russell Wilson is still making a name for himself. Furthermore, I can list a bunch of football stars that gave up football to play baseball. You sir are dumb!

I've seen plenty of film on this kid through trading game film with other schools and his. He is one of the best "high school athletes" I've seen in a while. He could play some small school D1 football, but major baseball with his speed and size.

He has no business mentioned with LSU football unless as a walk on. Baseball.....? He could play.

for every thread like this, there are 5 different ones about a kid from a poster's hometown that they think are the next big thing, that never amount to anything.

you're not really exposing anything. No one on here really knows anything. Like people sitting in the Brandon Harris thread saying Rudolph is better than Harris. Based on....what? game film? twitter? honestly, come on

Because the most impressive offer on the board for thus kid is mcneese st. And we have way way ( no way I can emphasis how much better ) prospects on the board right now. Don't be dumb If this kid was a top notch talent he would have a better offer sheet and it takes more then a 4.4 ( which I doubt he runs ) to get an offer from a major school. By the way if lsu was that desperate first i think we would all be depressed and LSU could offer this kid at 11:59 on National signing day and steal him from southeastern Please don't post ever again unless you have something decent cause this thread just wasted everyone's time.

Boy, talk about open mouth and insert foot. Someone has been made to look an idiot and it isn't the OP!

Banning someone for bumping that thread should be grounds for a permanent loss of your domain name

The way he made his point sounded like he was putting down baseball players, but the premise is correct. Baseball is a skill sport, more than an athleticism sport.
