You know, right after Lane left for BR he seemed to really be grateful for Ole Miss and his time there, but they didn’t seem to be thankful for him building them up. From the fans, to Golding, to the AD, they all seemed like straight jaded assholes taking shots at him. Now it seems Lane is going scorched earth and full on “frick them bitches” and I’m all here for it.

**My take on all of what’s happening ****
A) By no means am I defending Lane when I say this but for 4 of the 6 years he was the HC at Ole Miss he was encouraged and enabled to go take players from other schools via the portal. There have been guys who had “contracts” that Ole Miss has stolen (Walter Nolan from Texas A&M comes to mind immediately) so - if OM was somehow expecting that Lane would just let every good player stay without a fight … then that’s just not realistic.
I don’t have any issue. If anyone should know what Lane is truly capable of - it should definitely be Ole Miss Football. He fights dirty and has a mean streak. Go fight dirtier and be nastier is what I would tell you if you don’t like that.
B) I keep reading about how Ole Miss is burning and all that and I don’t get it. If I’m Ole Miss and the day Lane left you would have said on the last day of the portal you will lose WR5, LT that didn’t play , TJ and Princewill and that is it - you would have thought that would have been a huge success. You keep every returning starter including RB, QB , DT , DT , C , G ,WR2 etc. it’s 2026 you’re going to lose kids every year. There might be more - who knows but you brought in upgrades everywhere. If Trinidad Chambliss is eligible they’re a Top 5 team in the country pre season with what they have returning.
C) LSU hired the highest profile HC in America and gave him tons of cash to go recruit kids. Did people think he wasn’t going to get great players ? I know him - so I certainly didn’t think that would happen. He signs good players. News flash …. LSU is going to be good. Duh.
They will both be Top 10 teams entering the season
