I think the issue with Leavitt, shared by LSU, Miami and Tenn is that he wants the spot held for him til recovered. Each team needs to prepare and start the season with someone else, someone good. This means whichever team gets him will need to either stick with a guy who starts the season, maybe doing well or abandon the guy and deal with the internal and external fall out from that decision.

I think Leavitts been "in" for while, I think the current issue with him committing is Lane has to plan for multiple scenarios with his injury. Could alot of his dual threat ability next year ( if he's ready) be threatened? or could it make his style of play infinitely higher risk?
I would imagine Lane wanted him to sit next year with Williams at first, but I could be way off. Not to mention it fell through.
Who knows. I doubt the portal would be this active if they didn't have some kind of assurance.
