Definitely didn't see that coming at all!! But, I can't fault a kid for wanting to rep his home, just as any fanbase (LSU included) wants it's best players to stay home. Good thing is, other strong WRs will sign, and the in-state class next year is loaded at WR. Maybe use this spot for a stud DL or pass rusher.

It’s definitely immature. He’s a kid, but these are organizations with millions on the line in recruiting. It isn’t too much to ask for a decommit ahead of signing day.

LSU will be fine. In fact, LSU is going to be so fine, that this doesn't even bother me.
But, there is something to be said for committing to a team, staying committed through signing day, through the in home visits, etc. and then switching at the last minute. That benefits nobody, and puts the team and other kids who would have wanted that spot, in a bad position.
I don't know why you have to pretend that isn't the case.

Why you making excuses for the kid. Just shows really poor character what he did. He should own it now. I’m sure he’s been knowing he’s going to Maryland, so why lie about it for months. He just tweeted the day before he was all LSU.
