Henderson is committed to USC, but unsigned. His LOI makes USC's class the #1 over Florida this year, if and when it comes in. (We think it will, which pretty much negates the thread title).

We are waiting to get the T shirts printed until he does.

I don't understand this; I mean I always wish the kids well, but he talked soooo much about stability in the program and USC is at its least stable period of the last 10 years.

I will

OSU, from what i've heard, will have 10 OL in 2011 going into the season if we don't get any recruits.....2 lines in a position where people are injured every day.

They better win it all this year

Keep wishing. USC will get a slap on the wrist. And Henderson will be playing for USC next year. You can bet on it.

USC crashing and burning on signing day as predicted all over td.com---massive fail. By the way, let's not forget about our 6th 5-star who will enroll, as well--Patrick Hall, who could not enroll last year due to academics.

You guys crack me up.

WE crack YOU up?? You're more fun than a barrel of monkeys as far as we're concerned.

And almost as smart.

Seriously, how's that Norm Chow hire prediction working out for you? About as well a you're "slap on the wrist" prediction I expect.

USC will get hammered. The NCAA has too much time invested in this investigation, and it knows it's credibility as a regulatory body is in serious question.

And know what? USC deserves to be punished. For lack of institutional control. Because Reggie Bush IS guilty as charged. There's no question of that in anyone's mind.

Anyone who isn't a delusional Trojan fan, that is.

There probably won't be much of a meltdown. Just lots of

"media darling" this and "If it was an SEC team.."
that.

Same ol.

LSUTangerine - are you the SC poster who posted "what a staff, what a staff, what a staff" when Lane Kiffin was hired? I can't recall for sure, but I remember that post, and I remember laughing.

How does USC, a program with so much success lately, have to resort to hiring a guy who has only been a HC for 1 year? That's mind boggling.

It reminds me of what Notre Dame did when Lou Holtz retired. ND had a great run from 86-96 with top 10 finishes and national titles. Instead of using that success to get a quality, proven HC, they hired someone familiar with the program and who was known as a great recruiter - Bob Davie. Keep in mind that Bob Davie had some great assistants on his staff - Urban Meyer, Steve Addazio, Dan Mullen, Joker Phillips and others on staff. Turns out, it didn't matter one bit because all of their recruiting was stymied by Davie'e inexperience as a HC.

that was me.

regarding the second question. Kiff did great while at USC and it will be a smmoth transition. He and staff can, indeed, recruit like very vew others. He actually did well at UT in his one year. The before and after stats were significant. We'll see though. Jury will be out for three years barring straight top five finishes.

Fair enough. But elite programs and newbie HCs typically do not work. I'm still floored that with all of USC's success, they had to hire a guy who only has 1 year's experience being a HC. Reminds me of that Bob Davie move and his recruiting staff. They didn't miss a beat recruiting after Holtz left, but they sure missed his experience as a HC. I think the same will happen to USC.

Supposedly the kid really likes Miami, but as noted his dad wants to have a career in rap music. Not signing the LOI with SC is thought by some to be some compromise. If SC is penalized moderately then the kid will be free to sign with another school.

There's a scenario that USC gets penalized and he signs with Miami or even Minnesota. I think the gophers will glady find a way to kick someone off the team to free a scholarship.

as I had hoped? I don't hate USC, just your dumbass. I like most of the USC fans that post here, mainly because they aren't whiny douchebags such as yourself.

anyway I don't expect Ogre and Kiffin to fail on the recruiting trail, coaching is where your guys will fall flat minus Monte.

That's not being an attention whore; that's being smart. He's the only USC recruit with a brain. Why on earth would you sign away four years of your life to a school that might be hit with severe sanctions?

I don't think severe sanctions are likely, even though warranted, because it's USC. Nonetheless, it is smart to wait and see what happens before signing on the dotted line.

Cant say I blame him really. Wants to be there, but not if they are sanctioned. I see nothing wrong with this.

If USC was merely gettin a slap on the wrist, why weren't they able to get there top choices to coach there? I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Kiffin was not their first choice to take over the program. If they aren't going to suffer for the amount of rule breaking going on there, it seems like they could have had their choice of coach. Top school that top athletes want to play at. Extreme media coverage. And basically no ramifications for breaking NCAA rules. Sounds like a cake job to me.

USC is already aware of the sanctions (2 schollies lost for two years).

You keep saying this, but it is not true. That might be the penalty but the penalty will not even be decided until April, and a lot can change until then. NO ONE knows the penalty because the penalty has not been decided yet. USC likely THINKS it will be two schollies, but the NCAA has a history of not being all that forthcoming with schools under investigation.

And I don't know if Henderson has sent in his LOI or not, but I don't think its attention whoring to wait. It's pretty smart, actually, if you have the leverage to pull this sort of thing off.
