Uhh and a new system that 95% of the team will not only have to learn, but master it to have a CFP caliber team.

This is BS. Kiffin going all out for next year. He’s not building for the future- the quarterback he’s depending on for next year only has one year. The days of building teams for the future are over. The future is now.

1000% false. Leavitt has 2Y if he wants them

I agree we are going all out for 2026 but we targeted multiple transfers with >1Y eligibility

umm SL is a redshirt junior.

he took RS in 23 at mich state

24 he led Arizona state to cfp as Redshirt Freshman

25 played 7 games

and possibly with the new rule coming down where you can redshirt up to 9 games its possible he could file a med redshirt and even have 3 years if he wanted to fight it.

It's amazing how confidently wrong some folks are around here

I agree it's playoffs or bust next year but we've actually been really smart targeting guys with multiple years of P4 experience and more than 1Y eligibility left if they want it.

Exactly. If we weren’t looking past 2026 they wouldn’t have worked so hard to keep the HS class together and then flip guys like Miret who aren’t gonna start or even play next year

This team has a lot of potential if they come for money and a championship.

My sauces said that Seaton was at his first class as an LSU student athlete this morning at 7:30 AM. He was seated on the front row in the Coates auditorium for Organic Chemistry!

Both of you are correct. It was a must to grab multiple QBs for this year. Every team tries to carry 3 or 4. He did it in a way that sets us up for the future. Of course, we have to re-recruit everybody each year these days.

Also there's Huson Longstreet--which is kind of a pretty big deal in terms of building for the future!

If we were 100% dead set on going 2026 or bust, and weren't concerned at all about 2027 and beyond, there's no way we'd have spent such a big chunk of cash on a guy who, if everything goes according to plan, will be a backup this year.

Here's another thing about building for this year versus the future that I never really see people mention or consider: If we DID decide "okay, we're playing for the future; we're not gonna burn all our cash reserves on 2026", it would put as at major risk of having a very rough season (i mean, our schedule is insane) in 2026, which would in turn put us in the position of having to desperately scramble to keep our roster together at the end of the year. The fact is that, with virtually unrestricted player movement, the only real way to build for a year or two down the line is to be good in the first place--because, if you're not, you're going to have a terrible time trying to keep your roster together (and also it's going to cost you more to bring new guys in). Hugh Freeze learned the hard way at auburn what happens when you try to pinpoint a year in the future and push specifically towards that year. Kiffin seems (rightfully, imo) determined not to make the same mistake. And, anyway, the flip-side is true as well: If we DO land seaton and princewill and roll into this season with an absolutely stacked roster and have a fantastic season and make the playoff, the ROI will be positive by a comfortable margin.

Seaton is actually attending classes? At LSU? And on top of that , it’s a 730 Organic Chemistry class?

Sure! I’m gonna believe it’s true cause I want to damn it!

You have a completely new offensive line, qb, and receivers.
This ain't your daddy's era of college football. Must get away from this mindset.

This will be most teams every year until something changes within the landscape of college football.

Some team with the characteristics that you just explained will have to win it all!

I mean you'd have to be a complete moron to believe that jordan seaton--a guy who will unquestionably be moving on to the NFL after his third year of college--would schedule ORGANIC CHEMISTRY.
