It means, you won’t have 2 deep 5/4 star guys across your roster. Those back ups have already transferred out.
It means, your backs up will come from smaller programs, that have potential to develop.

I’d like to reiterate the point of, had Chambliss committed to LSU a year ago, nobody would have been happy or excited. There would have been only a 1 page thread about him, and it would have been filled with people asking why LSU is taking a Ferris State QB.

More importantly, it frees up crucial NIL funds to actually go after the stars at QB, EDGE, RB who are the engines of the team.
I keep saying this but a disgruntled former top 200 recruit who flamed out of a blue chip program is a HUGE risk in this era. They demand high payments and often aren’t coachable or willing to play a role. Filling a roster with those guys is a powder keg waiting to blow up in your face.

Im most excited about the smaller school guys. When I see SEC guys leaving stable programs after playing all I envision is our OL leaving us.

Its a lot of guys the scouts.missed on intially and/or had growth development spurts post HS.
Also the new 105 scholly limit allows for us to take more chances on guys who may have development traits we like.

The reality is unless you're absolutely sure the transfer is going to contribute, you don't give them big money. See Nic Anderson and several others.
Worst case scenario is you blow your budget on unmotivated players that give you nothing and they transfer after one year anyway.

He also would have been on the bench until the same time MVB had to come in this year, just like he did until Austin Simmons went down
