I'd trade any recruit in our class outside of Mettenberger for CJ Johnson.
Even Freak adn Landry bro?
I mean thats a bit much.
I pray that CJ does join the Bayou's finest. I do feel like we will have another great close.
I dont see why CJ would want to go anywhere But Moo State or LSU. Ole Piss is a bad look for anyone at this point.
Give me Playing time as a true freshman at LSU and I am all in.

LSU is closer to home than Oxford.
I think it's about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour driving distance differance.

Yeah, go to Bama where there are already 50 LBers and where the Midget coach won't be there in a few years...Idiot! Recruits that need advisors should hire advisors that actually have a brain. Going to Bama would be career suicide. Just as it would for Clowney. That 2 faced Midget wont be there for 2 more seasons. Book it!
Jesus Christ.........

I stand corrected. Oxford Is a little bit closer to Johnson. I was thinking about Picayune

so we have a chance!
great F-ing news. If we finish this class with a whimper, as it stands now its still a great class.
If we add and any combination of Rasco, Jernigan, CJ, Clowney [insert name here] this could be a phenominal class!
Miles is a heckuva closer and usually pulls at least 1 shocker out of his hat!
Geaux Miles!

Like I said, gotta factor in our players at other positions and not just a pure ranking of the players. If I had to rank the three of em I'd probably put em at Freak, CJ then Landry (Collins would be in there somewhere too). However we've got good DTs already and many WRs. We haven't had a playmaking MLB in ages.

If he consulted Dupree he's going to Ole Miss. Dupree knows what its like to regret leaving the state. Granted LSU isn't that far, he is very much a pro mississippi guy. Bama makes no sense other than pro potential.

Isn't it about a two hour drive from Philly, Miss to Oxford and a four hour drive from Philly, Miss to Baton Rouge?

Dupree regrets leaving OU.

didn't know mullen was considered a lazy recruiter
Posted on 1/14/11 at 5:46 pm to GeauxAggie972
sorry, but you're sorely mistaken.
The DC was not recruiting him. CJ was committed to Miss. State as a Jr in high school. The DC that left was not even on staff when CJ committed.
Secondly, Morrow has not decommitted and told Mullen that he will sign with State come Feb. Brassell won't qualify and is going to NWCC, then Alabama. Whitehead was wishy-washy from DAY 1...and best friends with Brassell...no surprise he doesn't come to MSU. Personally, I don't know what the staff saw in him. He had a good camp and was offered. Didn't do much on the field against viable competition.
Singleton was never a commit (at least not publically), but when MSU got commits from Morrow and Fosselman, Singleton took a closer look at the current depth chart and decided he could get more playing time at TSUN...probably as a blocker.
CJ is still a strong MSU lean. He just was listening to the lies that the TSUN coaches and players were telling him at the US Army AA game.
He should come back to MSU.

CajunK9. Did you read this or are you just a fan of MSU. Of CJ doesn't come to LSU I hope he goes to you guys.

I was raised in Baton Rouge. But a Miss. State graduate. Have family ties to the athletic department (assoc. AD). Played ball at MSU.
CJ was the key recruiter for Miss. STate for the last two years. And VERY CLOSE to a former HS teammate and current MSU star DL.
During week of the Army AA game, we had 2 coaches leave. Our WR coach took a HC job at ULL, and our DC took a DC job at Texas Longhorns (argueably a top 5 position in the country). Also during this week, CJ roomed with Singleton and Brassell and they worked him hard to try and flip him. TSUN's coaches were outright FIRED. Rumor is that more TSUN coaches are gonna get canned as well right after NSD, Nix (TSUN's DC) is rumored to be one of them.
Two days ago, Miss. State hired the LB coach/Co-DC (Geoff Collins)...he's widely considered to be the recruiter of an Ed Orgeron-like mold, except he can actually coach. First thing he did catch up with CJ. He has SEC ties (Alabama recruiting coord.), Georgia Tech ties, Central Fla. ties, etc. He is a fiery recruiter and a "high-energy" type guy (much like Manny Diaz) and he wasted little to no time talking to CJ upon taking the job. Seemingly, CJ has come back around and gotten a "warm and fuzzy" back with MSU.
CJ is a GREAT KID....on and off the field and he knows that he comes to Miss. State, he starts from DAY 1. We're losing all 3 of our LBs...2 of which are expected to go NFL.
IF (and I think it's a big "IF") CJ does NOT come to MSU. I DO NOT see him going to TSUN. LSU would have a better chance than TSUN, but I don't think he goes to LSU. I think MSU has to be more concerned with Alabama than anyone else.

I've heard the same things about all the other guys but i know a guy that personally talks with Whitehead and he has been adamant all year that Whitehead was locked in to MSU.Even when all the Auburn talk got started the guy said Whitehead wasn't going anywhere. The Brassell thing changed things along with the coaching changes but Whitehead was always solid to MSU.Just because other teams are mentioned with recruits doesn't mean the kid is really considering them.He is a good player as well.A loss for MSU if he goes.

CajunK9, I appreciate the informative post. I'm relatively new to the board, but I hope you'll stick around. Always nice to read things outside of my typical realm of knowledge. I also hope that you guys will get CJ if in fact he doesn't come to LSU. Seems MSU is heading in the right direction for the first time in a bit and I was difinstly proud of how yall represented against Michigan.
