Hopefully the #1 recruit in the 2027 class, QB Elijah Haven from right here in Baton Rouge will be a Tiger

Great so we have to 2 more full seasons to maybe get the next good QB
Then wait until he’s ready to play.
So maybe 2029 we have something. Awesome

I was excited about Underwood, but after this he showed who he is. Fuggem! Glad he's gone. Guarantee you this decision wasn't made today or in the last week probably. Candy arse will be a bust.

Of course this decision wasn’t made today. He’s been going back and forth privately whenever the news came out a month or two ago that Michigan was prepared to offer top dollar. That opened his ears and they finally met his number today. Best piece of advice you can follow in recruiting, where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire.

2027 is stacked with QBs in LA but we need a 2025 and 2026

We really don’t, we have Hurley and also Collins who is gonna be a Redshirt Freshman and Redshirt Sophomore

We have two 4 stars in the QB room with 4 years of eligibility left. If you follow recruiting you would know Hurley is a prize fricking recruit who reclassed and early enrolled at 16 last January and is currently waiting in the wings. Don't write off hometown Collins who is a redshirt freshman this year. Between them and the portal, we will be alright not taking a QB this cycle even next.
But hey let's all melt and be little bitches because a 17 year old took 12 Million dollars to stay home. Board full of melting bitches!

Here's my question.
What's to stop Michigan from doing it again in a few years? Why should that be any different?
If you are Michigan why not come and make the same offer for him? Because he's a Louisiana kid? if I'm Michigan I would just continue to offer the #1 recruits all the money in the world. Is LSU going to match the millions then just because he is a Louisiana kid? A #1 overall recruit is still a #1 overall recruit.
I know I'm being negative now, but this really hurts, because I actually believed Underwood was different. It would be one thing if he wasn't continuing to state money was not a factor. He kept reassuring LSU.
I'm just gonna be negative and assume no chance LSU gets the #1 overall player out of High School in this era.
I mean even Walker Howard bounced after one season. Left because he didn't want to be a 3rd string here? Yet, he's been a 3rd stringer at Ole Miss for 2 years after!
Walker Howard has been a 3rd stringer for 3 straight years. And it doesn't appear he will be starting there next season.
So frustrated that top QB recruits do this. I know LSU has had success in the transfer portal with QBs, but it sure would be nice for once to develop our own elite HS QB. To me that's what separates LSU from having elite consistency.

I'd like to see what Collins can do, but I don't feel good about it.
Reports out of people who have seen him practice state he's not close. That could be wrong, but I am skeptical.
Seems like we are more like a Transfer QB U.
