Allegedly when Landry stepped in it a bit at the start of this thing he then had to lobby some of the oil and political machine behind it so there is more money/support than there has been in years.
I’ve heard the same.
Basically landry understood he unwittingly tied his la political career to LSU football and went to his donors down south and said if they put up the money for lane and NIL, then Landry would ride that to reelection and wouldn’t need their donations.
Buddy of mine said a lot of oil money who never attended or donated to LSU before are putting up big money at the request of Landry.
Could be BS, but it’s undeniable that the spigot has been turned on and LSU is spending well above previous levels now that we have CLK.

I think bk thought we didnt need as many guys out of the portal,
I think BK had the mindset that high school recruiting would still be the path forward.
Someone mentioned it the other day and if BK would have been here say 10 years ago before NIL and the portal likely he would have had more success. Even in a CEO mode.

Liberal democrats spend money on bad ideas. JBE, Woodward, Tate, Carville? Would you want to have dinner with any of them? The Dems promised JBE that Vatican seat. He’ll never see that job.
Throw in Mitch Landrieu. Took down all those racist statues, renamed streets like Jeff Davis and look how great New Orleans has done since. Now we have a newer white mayor, female and sworn in by Kamala. What train do you want to be on?
I’m riding with the King Lane.

Lane Kiffin should have been the hire to begin with.
Lane's last three years at Ole Miss have solidified his reputation as a solid investment.

I know that there weren’t as many big donors for Kelly. At least not the last couple years. When Kiffin was hired, several big donors started donating again.

I mean lane seems to have endless pot like wtf was BK and Woodward doing
If you look at the outflow of the entire WR corps and much of the OL combined with the money that was tied up in Nussmeier and Perkins, it seems like Kelly may have overpaid to hold onto the existing roster vs re-allocating it to the transfer portal.

No bc BK didnt do his fricking job correctly.

BK, CKM, CJJ or CMM had this type of money at their disposal. The boosters are tired of being the laughing stock of the state, they are ponying up the money to Make LSU Great Again.

Scrooge McDuck has only recently become a booster.

And isnt this the first year of revenue sharing? That added about 17 million to the pot that didnt exist before correct?

But the hiring of Lane energized the donor base so Lane is getting more support.
The Governor made sure his campaign backers were contributing.

It will be interesting to see how reliant on the portal Kiffin remains now that he is at one of the "big boys" in HS recruiting.
I definitely agree that it will be interesting to see how they handle it moving forward.

No Woodward wouldn't allow this much to be spent on Football as he wanted the wealth 'spread more fairly' around
Because he is a Democrat. Everyone gets a fair share. Sound familiar?

Cheapskate are you nuts, how much money has he thrown away in buyouts. BK wanted recruits to make appointments and I guarantee you he had nothing to do with getting any players. He completely suckered SW.

It just keeps going up every year. In 3-5 years, a senior Heisman candidate QB will bring in $10M. Mark my words!

Agree!
Would also love to know who the four BK and Fat Woodward cock bags are that down voted your post!

BK and LSU shoved LK and OM in a locker for Cooley, Haucey, Delane last portal cycle…. It’s one of the reasons he came here
