The QB depth chart looks like this:

JT Barrett

Anybody else.

The only competition for back up QB is Joe Burrows. Stephen Collier will never see the field. The rest are walk ons and Gibson is full time at WR.

And Ohio State has just as good of WR depth as LSU and incoming guys.

He is an OSU heavy lean and I doubt that changes.

This feels like when Leo Lewis decommitted from Ole Miss and everyone was pumped that he was coming to LSU. Turned out LSU wasn't even really in play. I'd be surprised if Haskins ends up at LSU, although I hope he does.

Their pitch is no redshirt and a chance to be true backup. Backup next season should get some work as well. The LSU camp believes a national championship run will put Harris in a position to leave and Jennings is likely to transfer with Haskins' signing.

depth chart.

how many qbs did ohio st sign last year?

ohio st actually had qb issues in their own right this season.. which is weird considering the year prior..

LSU has incredible talent on offense.. great opportunity

Ohio St
JT Barrett - RSJR
Stephen Collier - RSSO
Joe Morrow - RSFR
Torrance Gibson - QB/WR RSFR

LSU
Anthony Jennings - SR
Danny Etling - RSJR
Brandon Harris - JR
Justin McMillan - RSFR

Then both teams have several walk ons.

We both have 5 4 star skill players and 1 3 star in this year's recruiting class according to 247.

There are other good players out there that do choose other schools than LSU. And the Midwest produces a lot of strong football talent, especially the state of Ohio.

It'll be interesting to see where Haskins ends up, but he's not a make or break player for us. He would probably be the backup next year if he could beat out Joe Burrow in fall camp.

Gibson is a WR and the other guys are filler/walk ons.

As the recruits say- In no particular order. Compete for a nc every year, play in the best conference, great education, women and food.

Honestly, exposure.

How many prime time games does OSU play every year (maybe three)? The reason is no one wants to watch OSU versus Rutgers or Indiana or Purdue or Bowling Green.

LSU is typically the CBS afternoon game at least twice per season and is yearly the one CBS Saturday night game. LSU then plays almost all of the remainder of their games either on primetime ESPN or ESPN2 or SECN.

Point being, a player gets more exposure for LSU, even if ever so slightly, than they will at OSU.

This is because of the confluence of ESPN and CBS.

Edit: I think OSU played, two maybe three, ranked opponents all year. LSU played what six, at least. Better talent, better teams, more exposure, etc.

OSU was just named the most valuable CFB team in the country for the 2nd year in a row, which I'm sure takes national prominence and exposure into large account (worth $300 million, or a third) more than LSU. OSU also won a national title last year which gives a HUGE exposure bump, as LSU fans well know.

If you want to draw straws and say LSU has better talent at WR and RB sure go for that, it may or may not be true. However, there is no way that LSU has more exposure than OSU

You have a point on exposure from the Natty and most valuable CFB team, but, Miles and Cameron can simply say: We've got the most players who are starters in the NFL. We are NFLSU.

Ohio State has starters and players all over the NFL too.

We are NFLOSU.

Something like this. "Son, have you seen our QB play?".

I hope it then goes like this. "Coach, count me in since you put it like that".

But really. Chance to play in the SEC. South where the weather is nice(for the most part until he feels the 100+ temps). What 8 out the last 10 years NC's. A boat load of skill guys coming in. They will change the offense(well a guy can wish right?).
