Lack of tradition. If and when he leaves, Tech goes back to being Tech.

His size is the only draw back for an NFL everydown RB. TT would show that he can catch the ball on a regular bases as well as being the feature RB. Anyway Lache asked me last sprig what college offenses he would fit in with that would give him the best chance to make it to the next level. Lache only had like two catches and that was a ? about him being able to catch and run routes. LynxCat mentioned most of the ones we talked about.
Lester, I always like your and LynxCat's input so keep up the good work guys.

Lubbock is a hard sell. Add the fact that Tech was an also ran until.....now. I am sure some heads will turn and kids will give them a harder look, but there isn't many BCS schools in a worse location than Lubbock. Wazzou would be close.

tell him to go to Florida, not Texas Tech if he wants to be used that way.

You are right about the hard sell. I know a kid that just laughed at me when I was telling him about what a great offense Tech had and he should look at them as well.

Agreed.
Problem for LS is Demps is a TRUE freshman and already fills the role that LS would fit.
I can objectively say that LSU offers one of the best situations if LS were to come. Scott and Keiland won't be around anymore, with Richard Murphy having a year until he graduates, so that shouldn't be much of a factor. Trindon won't be there anymore either.
Ford, Pratt, and Ridley are COMPLETELY different styles of backs from LS.
Every touch that Murphy and Trindon get right now would go to LS as far as I am concerned.
Not to mention you will have Russell Shepard running the zone-read with LS. << That is indefensible as far as I am concerned.

Besides the fact Florida is very young at RB (2 freshmen) why in the world would you want to play him every year???

demps would be a Junior when Lache is a FR.
im not saying LSU would be a bad fit either.

Lynxcat were you a fly on my wall last spring. That sounds to close to what was said.

you do know that LSU runs the spread and spread option a lot, right?

Very true. Not sure who UF has taken at RB in the 2009 class. I'll need to check up on that.
ETA: UF 2009 RB
Just watched his film. He's veryyy similar to a Demps/Rainey style back.
Definitely a "speed back." He's the only RB commit UF has at this point in time.

Funny thing is, with their shitty recruiting, they still have a better QB than we do.
Your an idiot.
The guy is a senior in his third year starting. You can't compare him in his third year to Lee in his first as a red shirt freshman.
You also forget that our last 2 QB's are in the NFL and the one that should be playing now was kicked off the team, something most of us agreed on knowing the consequences.
Harrell redshirted his first year, played sparingly in his RSFR year and was successful as a Sophmore. He got better as he got older and more playing time. Lee hasn't had the luxary of getting "used" to things in his RSFR year. He has been thrown into things. I don't fault him near as much as I do the Seniors on this team and the new Dual DC we have.

Obviously you have never been there. They are not deep in football tradition, there stadium is the size of a large texas 5A football stadium and its Lubbock. They have a great football team this year, but will continue to have problems recruiting againt the big boys of the conference. Leach finds players that fit his system, not necessarly elite blue chips, he has sigend something like 40 2*'s over the past 5 years. Might be a little biased, I can't stand their school or their fans. I think as you find more and more teams gravitate towards the spread in the big 12 and texas highschool football, tech will find its rightful place as bottom dwellers of the big 12.
