Why do you and others constantly interpret every convoluted situation through a “LSU must have done something to frick it up” perspective?

I think it was his unwillingness to commit is what started it all. He wanted to still visit another school.

Who said that? I believe we just wouldn't meet his price based on medicals/the fact he'll miss spring. Probably offered him 2.5-3m and he is looking for 2x that

In his defense, it was a women’s basketball game, was it not?

Taking his visits, getting wined & dined, seeing who makes the best offer.
Seems like the deal he wants isn’t mutual and we’re just over this guy.

After seeing Williams film, I’d have Williams 1a and Leavitt 1b.

What makes you think we almost had him locked up? I think he was stalling for either Oregon or Miami personally.

Yeah, I don’t get the Miami attraction other than maybe some weather but it’s not a very pleasant place to live as I understand

And they don’t have their own stadium and they struggle to get 30,000 people in there per game unless it’s a blockbuster opponent. There’s no interest there at all. It’s like a Pro city it’s the same problem that USC has in Los Angeles.

Oregon I could see I guess

First of all I didn't say they fricked it up, brushing off something isn't fricking something up just so you know. That means putting it to the wayside or kicking the can further down the road, etc.

I just don't understand why you would hold up your QB search over some dude that you're going to get in a bidding war over and you could possibly lose. That's why I think Lane knows he's coming here 100%.

So pure speculation and chatter from people on here. That does not mean we almost had him locked up. Remember when Sorsby was a lock and Chaz Coleman wasn't going on any other visits? Remember when Demond showed up at our facility?

Did Sorsby bring his family? I don't remember too much going on that's what mainly made me think he was signing here. Like when lane sent the family to give him the OK. Maybe that's normal practice in this recruiting age but I doubt kids families got time to go following them around the country on all their visits.

Yeah. Kid should like he was bigger than his LSU/Lane experience. Red flag.

Personally I don't want any quarterback who's going to be injured through spring practice, especially since you would be new to the team, the staff and the system. His first live reps 3 weeks before the Clemson game is not optimal. There's so much that goes into playing the position..... So much preparation. He wouldn't get to build a relationship with his receivers by throwing routes over the summer? Timing is critical. That's an unknown. He's not Joe Montana. I would definitely kick the tires on discussions with him but I think signing him would be an absolute horrible idea. I'd rather take my chances with the Elon quarterback. You've got coaches who know how to develop a quarterback in a system that consistently produces good quarterbacks. This is a typical situation of overhyping someone. Let him go to Tennessee

You're assuming we brushed him off. It certainly could be mutual. He may have wanted a number that at one point sounded enticing to LSU but now with Williams as an option we weren't willing to go that high. Probably not as one sided as you think

I think Leavitt is currently a bigger name amongst fans and pundits than he is actual coaches.

You act like that means something. His brother is a paid representative of him for one thing so he goes on all visits. And my parents went with me on my college visits and I had to pay to go to school. I think inviting family is a tool to try and close the player while they are on campus.

Is Baton Rouge? I am very familiar with Miami through work and am there quite often. The traffic is bad but the city is cool and has a lot more to offer. I would not want to live there but I would not pick Baton Rouge or Louisiana over it. He is not going to have to worry about traffic and UM is in a cool part of town. There are a lot of reasons to pick LSU but this is not one.

I thought it was the men’s game vs. USCe.

Yeah a guy with millions of dollars in his early 20s would be completely miserable in Miami of all places.
