Traffic was fine for me last night. left game with 4 minutes to go. Got in truck at 11:50 was in thibodaux for little past 1am.

I stayed the whole game. Got in the truck slightly after midnight, was in Lafayette by 1:15 or so. I don’t understand how so many people have traffic issues. Do y’all not park according to where your contraflow is directing?

Left at halftime. Took 25 minutes to go 1 long block by U-High to Dalrymple. Then 10-12 minutes to I-10.

Glad I left early and saved over an hour. At least.

For the most part, if you plan your parking spot out so you won’t be stuck in traffic. It’s not that bad. I get from my parking spot to metairie in about half the time I hear people complaining about getting just across Baton Rouge.

I parked in the softball lot for the slu game and it took us forever. Granted I am not familiar with Baton Rouge so that would have helped. Went down skip Bertman and then made a left and went down river road till the exit before Acadian thruway.

This is the major problem, most just try and park as close as possible not considering the exit route.

I stayed to the very end and it took less than 20 minutes to get home. I was actually going give the city credit for making a change to it

If most of y’all understood how to drive contraflow then you would get out faster.

Instead I pass of all y’all sitting in line

with most of them trying to get to 1 interstate. Only so much you can do.

From my parking spot here are the issues,I have:

#1 Nicholson ext to Highland. Why block off the left lane? It goes, from two lanes, down to one, the back into two lanes again. Why not just allow traffic to go two lanes to Highland and then just stay in your respective lane. The left lane is currently blocked by a police car to enforce contraflow. An officer actually on their feet would work better. Two officers could easy handle this current bottleneck imo.

#2 The red lights at college and Perkins (plus college and the shopping center) are an issue. Those intersections should be controlled by the po po. Basically, there is contraflow leading to a couple of signal (STOP) lights. That is dumb.

#3 Merging onto the interstate going West at College. I guess the lights act as a pacing mechanism. However, a state trooper patrol vehicle on I-12 west prior to the onramp at College would leave the right lane available for cars entering via contraflow.

In short, if the Romans could get out of the Colosium and be on there way, then we surely should be able to figure this out. Then again, I'm on no sleep and may not be making any sense.

Because they are not miracle workers. I know this is shocking but if you have 100K + people in a relatively small area most trying to get out at the same time there will be congestion

Blows my mind that people can’t understand this concept

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately.

I’ve been going to games for literally decades. I don’t recall leaving games and not having to sometimes spend up to an hour doing it.

Hasnt traffic always been bad?

Y'all do realize on any given game day, the campus becomes the 5th largest city in the state, right? To move an entire city from one area over the span of a couple of hours is always going to cause backups. Could it be better...yeah, but try to be realistic. (Can’t believe I’m saying be realistic on the rant!) The biggest problem is poor driving. I was stuck behind some idiot making a left turn INTO contra flow traffic. And you wonder why traffic doesn’t move...
