Antonio thriving as a professional because his game is more geared towards pro ball. Sampson played really well last year after a okay freshman year, his injury hurts but he isn't Will Wade recruit and Will has little tolerance for Sampson. No uncle here just facts.

Better coaches don't make a bit of difference when it comes to shooting the ball. The only person that can make a player a better shooter is himself. It's all about putting in the time and effort in the gym on your own time is what makes a shooter. Nobody teaches you how to get that feel for the ball it's something you have to do. Apparently Blakeney has been doing that. End of story.

Um, so, coaches dont help with mechanics? So dumb.

bad college coach or not it still does not explain why he couldn't shoot the ball worth a crap in college and is suddenly a good shooter. That has nothing to do with coaching and everything to do with working on your game and your shot.
Blakeney performed well as a primary option with little offense created for him, knocking down 41.4 percent of his shots off the dribble, per Synergy Sports – second in the SEC only to likely lottery pick Malik Monk. That off-the-bounce figure improved to an SEC-best and top-10 nationally 55 percent in spot up situations – those came infrequently in a system in which Blakeney was the primary creative force.
Blakeney got just 16 uncontested looks all year (he hit 10 of them, good for an SEC-best 62.5 percent on such attempts)

Believe it or not the SEC plays much better defense than the G league. They are a glorified AAU league that just wants to run and shoot. Blakeney was designed for that kind of a game.

Product of Jones’s one high ball screen and chuck system.

Lonnie may not have been top shelf in the coaching department ,but his play on the court is where he excelled. The same man who made him shine is the same man who saw he got the LSU gig. A fricking 33 % FT fact from a starting point guard .JHC. He always seemed to really show up when the game was on the line. Thanks again Daddy & Collis for the hire.

Thought he was playing in the NBA?

I'll always give him major kudos for finishing up his freshman year strong and giving max effort amid the Simmons/Quaterman bitch fight/CJJ total loss of control year.
I remember vividly the Tennessee game in Knoxville where the whole team was totally disinterested and giving zero effort. Blakeney busted arse, he was the only one who cared. That showed something to me.
But that toxic culture eventually took it's toll on even him and I think he eventually succumbed to it last year.
I wish him the best. He was a talent...a top 15 recruit. I feel for him that he was a victim of the unfortunate culmination of the meltdown of the CJJ regime.

Jones was too busy trying to make Ben Mr. EVERYTHING. Blakeney got downplayed. Happy for his success, should get him a spot next year.

Much more open. Much much faster pace. Players are allowed to create.
