If Aranda is HCIW, how big is his binder?

Legitimate question.
The only answer is you don't want to pay Orgeron the buyout...and that's a shame if you are convinced Aranda will be the next HC.

I’ve heard the exact same thing. First right of refusal.

You either have a Head Coach in waiting, or you have Bud Foster 2.0. Either way, I dont think Arandas contract is bad.

To be honest, the only other option for a head coach at that time would probably be Frank Wilson, if he hasnt been snatched up by somebody else. Id be good with it.

I mean Alleva is an idiot but there’s no way that’s in the contract for many, many reasons.

Well there is that Miles money too! Hope Arizona pulls the trigger

It's obvious at this point...sooner than later I hope...

What in the world makes people think Aranda would be a great head coach ? Yes he is a great dc but he has Zero experience as a head coach. Im not saying that he would not be a great head coach, just saying that its a crap shoot. There is a huge difference in running a program vs running a defense. If O doesn’t work out I would hope LSU looks at all available options at the time rather than just hand the reins over to Aranda cause he is a good dc.

Lincoln Riley or Kirby Smart is what we think we have

3 things, incredibly sharp, very secure, very disciplined people are always successful period.. orgeron is none of those 3
And like the poster says above, you don’t lock a guy in for that much if you don’t believe he is your future..

So Alleva will make 2 football HC hires.

I don't this is necessarily true. I think Alleva still left himself an out. O could just be done at contracts end. I mean how long did Muschamp wait before he finally moved on? Jimbo?
I think O rides out the rest of his contract which may signify why the contracts end at the same time

Say hello to Lincoln Riley and Kirby Smart. Neither had HC experience, and both made the playoffs. Riley in his FIRST year and Smart in his second.
I’ve seen idiots here compare O to Saban.
It’s a million times more reasonable to compare Aranda to these two; their situations are pretty much identical.

I think the verdict is still out on Riley. He's in the playoffs bc of a 5th year Heisman QB. Without him he could easily be sitting at the same record as Herman
