any LSU fan who thinks LSU is a hard luck program has a very serious problem with perception, expectations, and reality of modern day big boy college football.

LSU's fanbase is the most bipolar in college football. Unrealistic expectations coupled with a massive inferiority complex. You'll see posts by people expecting an undefeated season, and posts that our opponents-Bama in particular-are ten feet tall. Often, these posts come from the same person within minutes of each other..

Exactly... GA has double the population of LA. IS one of the most fertile recruiting states in the country and there are only 2 d1 pograms in the state with one having serious academic limitations and they run a hs offense.

I stand corrected. You said SEC champions.

I would have added auburn, but they fell fast. They prob wont be a threat to us for a couple of seasons. If at all again under Les.

Were playing against a stacked deck in bama's favor. This game should have never happened and was supposed to be Kentucky. And don't get me started on 2011.

Somebody needs to raise some shite in the SEC office to make sure this changes in the future. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

What pisses me off is the scheduling. Just looked at the TV log in another thread for Saturday the 12th. We get Florida and the Gumps get Kentucky. Of course, we all know about the favorable schedule 'Bama seems to get each year. Somebody needs to raise some shite in the SEC office to make sure this changes in the future.

Please god, make it stop.

Exactly the point of my thread. One man's "hard luck" is another man's "stacked deck".

We are an elite program by every standard you can possibly use. If we aren't elite, no one else is elite besides Bama.
So you have us as the 2nd best program in the country?

Well, the schedule issue will be resolved once Tennessee decides to finally get its shite together. However, I do expect the year they do field a top 10 team, Bama will get them at home and LSU will also have them on the schedule...at Neyland. Schedule equity only goes so far when it includes the anointed inbreds.

It is frustrating that we can't have a good offense and defense in the same season. We finally have the offense we've been looking for, and our defense is possibly shittier than the 08 D.

Man you have a very low self image. LSU is what programs like Stanford and Oregon are trying to be and they are in top 5. Can you list your top 5 or top 10 elite programs? Looks like you have to win the NC every to be elite in your mind.
No, I don't. My point was that we have been on the cusp of being elite several times in the last decade (we are not hard luck), only to have the rug stripped out from underneath us each time...whether it be coaches, juniors leaving, Bama, bad scheduling or whatever. We screwed the pooch for the NC game in 2010..win that and we may have been considered elite. But the way we lost does not make us an elite program, it makes us a very good program that can't quite get out of its own way to becoming elite.

What programs do you consider elite?

the only one that's elite right now is Bama, and it pains me greatly to type that.

Elite should be reserved for only the very few who consistently win championships. LSU won 9 games last year and lost a crappy bowl game to an overmatched ACC opponent and looked like shite doing it with 9 juniors who ended up in the NFL. That's not elite.

we won 10 games.

But i agree with bama, i was just thinking you had other programs in mind, which none of them have the hardware to back it up besides bama and UF, other than LSU.

Since the bcs era, no one has won the sec more times than LSU. We are pretty damn close to being elite. And if you do reserve it for a few teams, LSU should be rt behind bama.

That is not what is considered elite in college football. There must be at least 10 programs that are called elite. Michigan, Ohio state, Fla, USC,... are all considered elite programs whether you like it or not.

LSU is 111-26 in the last ten plus years with four SECC's, two NCs, and three BCSCG appearances.

LSU leads all BCS programs in wins in that period.

We did that while playing in a conference with four different teams owning NC.

Anyone thinking that doesn't shout out elite is as crazy as they come.

To you guys who think we 're "hardluck", "almost", "underachievers", or whatever else you can come up with- just let me say you're missing the golden age of LSU football. We have been elite for the last 12 years or so. We're one of the teams most other programs want to be like. That's why they celebrate so much on those occasions when they are able to beat us. I don't know what you're waiting on, but if you can't realize what we have and enjoy it instead of complaining its gonna pass you by and be gone. Times like these don't last forever. Recognize and respect my friends.
