I want to thank everyone for the banana gifs. I have saved them for future distribution to unsuspecting recipients. Just gonna randomly insert them in a text conversation

You would either have to be from NOLA or have been to the park to have known that.

Otherwise, Zephyr means "a light breeze out of the west"

A King Cake baby is a lot more representative of Louisiana than a rollercoaster or light breeze

"Zephyr" was the name of the roller coaster at the old Pontchartrain Beach amusement park at the beach in New Orleans

But the king cake baby has NEVER been called a baby cake.

And, while we're at it, how many people outside of the south actually know what a king cake baby is.

Yes, you are correct. But I said "Baby Cakes" is more Louisiana, not New Orleans.

A rollercoaster is not an icon of the state

I thought so as well, that was the explanation given on local radio. I believe it was on Moscona's show.

I'm not talking about the name per se. It's the mascot representation. Calling the team the "King Cake Babies" would've been more dumb.

ETA: and every time I get a king cake sent to me out of state people always ask about the baby

Neither is a baby cake. Seriously, what is a baby cake, anyway?
