Not hard to tell the difference between a good hitting team and what we produce. Their contact is much better than ours. Glad they didn't start the guy pitching now. It would be ugly. Not that it isn't right now.

I umpired for years so I think I know a little. On Newman's first pitch, did anyone see the umpire flinch as if to almost call a strike but didn't? Not that it matters but a first pitch strike is better than a first pitch ball. Can change the entire complexion of a game in fact.
