I prefer a berm or "levee" like at Zephyr Field. The pros include being able to lay down and stretch out, assuming it's not crowded. Bring blankets.

I think a berm has way more cool factor than bleachers. Everybody has bleachers.

I hope they build bleachers for the additional seating they provide and let those be the student seats.

You only need overflow seating for 6-8 or so games per season, and an empty berm looks better than empty bleachers. So I vote berm.

Lets just all admit that this huge "need" for the extra bleacher seating is for post season when all the true fans come out for a few games.

You are exactly right that most of the time, a few folks lounging around on a berm will look much better than mostly empty bleachers out there.

Berm would look better and also bring something different into the new stadium

what about an artifical grass berm

Rack that, great idea. And you can paint the title years on the artificial grass.

Also I think they can sell more standing room only tickets.

The fire marshall disagrees.

Berm - fire marshall be damned - put more people out there on the big games! Paint the Eye of the Tiger on it and mount the Intimidator atop it. Instant cool runs added to every game!

Berm, by far. If there are not enough people to fill the bleachers, it will just look bad, plus a berm would look much better. I hope they also get rid of those ugly fences and stuff behind the outfield wall.

fwiw ole miss allows coolers on theirs. all you have to do is cut the berm off from the other parts of the stadium pretty easy to do.

I say bleachers!
I put this on the other thread about this same topic.
I say put bleachers to match left field then raise the green wall in centerfield and then place the intimidator on top of the green wall then put the flags up above that. That will make the stadium look a lot more symmetric. The problem with the berm is that when it rains there would be a huge mess and all you would see is a big tall mud puddle. That way the students could have a section depending on the average of the students that attend the games. Any seats left over would go to the standing room ticket holders. Everyone wins including the stadium.

That's incorrect. Take note from how the Levee at Zephyr Field is after it rains. It's all grass and since it's angled, most of the rain runs off. It's just like your lawn would be after it rains...wet, just like bleacher seats. A berm gives you the option of laying down with a blanket, assuming it's not crowded.

Agreed, another good example is the Miss River levee. How many times do you pass by it after a rainstorm and it's a mud puddle? Never happens.

I think alot of people are overestimating the potential use of any additional seating. Whatever they add will be empty until a big SEC series late in the year than post-season.

how about bleachers down the right field line, berm in right center stretching to the hitters eye in center, and a new intimidator on top of the berm??

No fricking way this happens. There's no money in it.

Hell, the only reason they're putting in water fountains next year is because they were cited for not having any.
