How’d that work out for DiNardo?

Y'all need to stop acting like the sky is falling. When I say I could be worse it can be.
You could have a coach that is ONLY coaching because your school doesn't have the money to fire him.

This is not a decision for those with a temporary relationship to the school.
Yeah uniforms worn are kind of peripheral, but agree on principle.
Maybe Kelly should limit this council to 3rd year guys who've earned the right (maybe only 2-3 members at this rate).

Apples v. Oranges.
DiNardo got LSU approved to wear gold, white, gold at home and it has been that way for 25? years
It is THE LSU brand, NOT the crappy uniforms we have been wearing.

Probably is made up of older players being the leadership counsel and all.

Other 3 are MBB, WBB and Gym.
I expected more members.

Just go put a sign in front of his house saying that the fan base doesn't like the team playing "Musical Uniforms".

Kelly and the athletic department don't get it AT ALL..No musical uniforms, and cut the hideous rap music...tradition guys.. Honor it.

Bet you that didn't exist at ND.
Kelly also had a leadership council at Notre Dame.
So far this season, ND has worn:
blue/gold (normal home)
white/gold (normal road)
green/white
blue/white
white/white
blue grey/blue grey (for the Four Horsemen 100th Anniversary game against Army)
And the reaction of ND fans is similar to here; some, usually older fans, hate it; other, mostly younger fans, think if the players love it - and they absolutely do - then go for it.

Alternate unis are cool. What's ALSO true is we've had way too many. It's called balance.

And why are we still talking about this ? Let it go. Yall want to talk about wins and losses the so called classic Uni is the one with the most losses because thats all they would wear. I grew up watching LSU wearing purple at home . thats what they should wear .

The fan base?
Speak for yourself, dont drag the rest of us into your bullshite fantasies about “the brand.”

The white helmet thing is seeming to bleed to other teams across college and NFL. To me a white helmet means poor or cheap. It’s the practice helmet where I grew up. So when I see it used on the field of play it irks the shite out of me. It is apparent that it has become the “flat billed hat” of college football. You either love it or hate it. I hate it but that’s just my personal preference.
That yellow helmet is sacred. It’s tradition and it’s our brand. Imagine if Ford started putting a bow tie on the front of their trucks with the word “Ford” on it - let alone it be in any color but blue? Imagine Chevy putting a blue oval with the word “Chevy” on it? There’d be lawsuits and trademark infringements galore. But more importantly ultimately those casual observers (the ones we all advertise to) would get confused.
LSU playing with those insidious white helmets is confusing. And people who casually watch are going to quickly forget.
Let me tell you how stupid people are. I was in L.A. at a Dodgers game with my LSU hat on. Struck up a conversation with a guy from Oakland who had a Niners hat on. He saw LSU and said “That’s Bama right?” I said no more than that hat says the Rams. He said “what state is LSU in?” That’s when I realized that outside the Deep South most folks watch NFL and casually watch college football.
It doesn’t bother me at all about the shirts or the pants because I’m an 80’s child who grew up with purple shirts. But it kills my soul to see LSU get off brand in those marshmallow white sissy looking helmets that are not on our brand.
Outside of JD5, we’ve had some of the worst players on our team has had in a LONG time. I don’t care what losers think. They start actually winning games and beating USC let along A&M and Bama, and I might care if a 1-year paid prima donna wears pink flat billed caps. But not as a bunch of slow soft losers.
Thanks Kelly.

quote:agree, but we probably could have toned down the w/p/w, g/w/w/, w/w/w games
We have 2 pairs of paints
2 helmets and just introduced a 3rd jersey for 1 game.
People acting like we’re oregon out here.
1 or 2 g/p/g, 1 "new" concept, maybe a g/w/w or w/w/w, and the rest should be the traditional g/w/g
i think i'm in the minority but i really don't like the white helmets. wear whatever color jersey and pants, just keep the gold helmet. it's iconic
