They’re teaching us that you need an elite quarterback, diverse offensive scheme with seasoned, elite line play backed up by solid depth.

They returned multiple players who were sure fire draft picks last year to an already talented team. LSU has players who are barely draft worthy leave faster than shite through a goose. It’s part of the LSU “culture”.

This game was NOT a textbook example of anything. Bama made some inexplicable errors that resulted in it looking much worse than it was. This game swung on turnovers and red zone inefficiency by Bama. Until the last drive when Bama players had given up, total yards were still in Bama’s favor. TOP, first downs, rushing, etc all favored Bama.

One thing though. How BEAUTIFUL was the last 10 min drive in which Clemson started at the 1 yard line and just ran it down Bama’s throat to milk clock and ice the game. That drive nearly took an entire quarter.

I think bamas secondary got exposed and Clemson wore them out at the line of scrimmage.

So much stupidity in this thread. Clemson did not beat Bama because “they weren’t afraid”, or any of that bullcrap. They beat them because they diligently built up their talent over nearly 10 years. They have gotten better consistently. Two years ago they needed a superhuman QB performance to be competitive with Bama. This year they whipped them straight up.
yep. there is no "blueprint" to winning national championships. each team has to do it their own way. Saban does it with a seemingly different OC every year and having a completely hands off approach to that side of the ball. Dabo does it a different way. Pete Carroll did it with a pro style offense. Urban Meyer did it his own way. the only thing all these guys have in common is they had time to get it all put together the way they wanted things

It's much easier to match up with Bama when the officiating crew is not from the SEC.

Textbook..... Clemson doesn’t run off coaches. You can’t fire everyone and have what they have. 3 coaching staff changes in 10 years. All the staff rollover finally caught up with Bama.

And the capability to put it all together. Does our staff have that?

The coaches have LSU at number 6 with a 10 & 3 record. A win in the fiesta bowl and a number 4 recruiting class. Yep LSU is limited alright.

I'm not saying that your little find is a stretch but it's a stretch.

To me it shows just how mental the game is for us against bama. Clemson punched them in the mouth from the get go.

I taught me that we can beat em if our DL and OL play improve

But I knew that

Because even shite teams did this ben. When southeastern shuts you down, its scheme.
How many times do you have to be told this?

Bama was getting pressure on lawrence. He just had passing options.

Why can't they see that the offensive line needed to be better at both tackles.

Clemson has 1 all acc olineman.

Stop acting like its only the good and more talented defenses that stop us ben.

They’re so tied to the talent excuse that they’re forced to provide that Southeastern is more talented than LSU. It’s remarkable.

True.

They've had plenty of close games.

They only had two close games all year.

They aren't special.

They won their last 10 games in a row by 20+ points. Any team that can destroy an undefeated Bama team is now considered special. I do agree about them not being scared, etc., though.
