Ahh. 9-4 to 10-2 is wildly exceeding

Got it.

So in your opinion, going from 9-4 to 11-2, 11-2, 12-2 isn't "wildly exceeding" or impressive?

Got it.

Hey, we've gone from 8-5 to a bunch of 9-3.seasons. Miles and Orgeron are wildly successful!

Excellent post if you think:

- the sec is the same every year
- all wins are the same
- all losses are the same

Which in turn would make one a complete moron

What does 8-5 and 9-3 seasons have to do with what Miles did with Saban's recruits?

Well gosh Roger, I've said a dozen times or more since Miles was fired and o took over that the football team is playing the exact same brand of football with the exact same results.

Great defense, suspect, erratic offense, decent special teams and 9-4 to 10-3 season records minus a couple of 8 win seasons.

Are you now admitting that the program is preforming at the same level now, as it has been for the past 7 years?

I ask because it seems to me that some of your posts have implied that you believe o has been "crushing it."

When he admits that he needs a real D-line Coach that can also recruit, then we will be on the right track.

And won his second national title when he was Orgeron's current age

And never got fired from Ole Miss

And never got fired as an assistant over his off field issues

Luckily for O he has seemed to learn from his past mistakes.

Glad I don’t get judged today for things I did 10 yrs ago.
Most un self righteous people would agree.

If you are trying to draw some strange, laughable parallel between Saban and O, where are all the O national championships?

Actually the dip into greatness was short. We’ve been just above average for most of our history.

A top 20 program in all time wins with 3 N.C’s and four or five more if we count em like Bama and we are just above average? Got it...

He was also still in his 40s and was viewed as an up and coming coach, not a retread.

Those of you making the comparison of O to Saban are acting pretty ridiculous.

So, the one he won at LSU resurrecting LSU as a true "Flagship University" does not count?

quote:

17 years since LSU boldly set the market for a new football coach as it did when it hired Saban from Michigan State in 1999 for $1.2 million. During the negotiations, then-LSU athletic director Joe Dean and others with LSU balked at the idea of paying so much for a coach.

And then-chancellor Mark Emmert stepped in and stopped the quibbling between Saban’s agent, Jimmy Sexton, and LSU. “Pay him what he wants.”

And it was done. Emmert wasn’t looking for a bargain. He was shopping at Neiman Marcus, and he got value over a long period of time because he didn’t settle for journeyman defensive assistant coach Phil Bennett, who could have been hired at bargain prices. He didn’t settle for defensive coordinator Mike Archer as Dean did after the 1986 season and found himself looking for a new coach just four years later … and another just four years later … and another just five years later.

Instead, Emmert’s shot at the moon launched LSU’s football future from bad and average and very good every now and then over the previous quarter century to sustained greatness for more than the next decade. There were national championships in the 2003 and 2007 seasons after none since 1958 and a national championship game appearance at 13-0 in the 2011 season. There were Southeastern Conference titles in 2001, ’03, ’07 and ’11 after none since 1988.

LSU was never greater for longer than in that span because Emmert set the market. He didn’t try to get close to setting the market as Alleva just did, which was $6 million for Herman and $7 million for Fisher.

Maybe Alleva would not have gotten either Fisher or Herman for even those prices, but he should have tried harder and higher.

That’s what one has to do to be great. One doesn’t settle.

These Ohaters love trolling LSU fans, they’re sort of like Bama trolls but with a few more teeth.

So Lonnie says in his post that "trending up" in 2018 is easy to do after losing to a SBC team, get destroyed by Mississippi State and lose two others games in 2017. Plus the fact that we finished worse in the SEC in 2018 than we did in 2017, and you think his post is wrong?

Or is it stupid in your eyes because he says we finished the year with a 5-3 SEC record (which we did), we've been owned by Bama in the last 3 meetings 63-10 (which is correct), we had an offense that ranked 10th in the SEC three years after a coaching change and that none of these things have anything to do with Miles, which they don't.

You're the only moron in this thread Lester. And your reading comprehension is somewhere around a first grade level.

My apologies to all the first graders throughout the world.
