re: Coach O Is Crushing It

He was also still in his 40s and was viewed as an up and coming coach, not a retread.
Those of you making the comparison of O to Saban are acting pretty ridiculous.
It is amazing how some people's personal wants are considerably more important than the success of the program these days. This all gets pretty tiresome to read, but thankfully all we have to do is read this on a free website. I actually get it now why you people spend so much time crying about our coach. Its because thats all you can do. If any of you had any teeth or power then what you desperately want would actually be. But you don't and it won't anytime soon. Once that was realized this has become entertainment.

It’s ridiculous to think it’s a comparison between the two.

Saban had no national titles when he lost to UAB
This is not 2000 and O crapped out against Troy the same year Saban was winning another NC.
Why don't you save your O lovefest for a year he beats Saban and not a year he gets killed 29-0 in Baton Rouge.

Finishing 6th in the country isn’t good to you?

Seems like a level-headed reasonable thing to do.

Season can only be good if we beat Bama?? Is that the standard now?

He didn’t try to get close to setting the market as Alleva just did, which was $6 million for Herman and $7 million for Fisher.
Maybe Alleva would not have gotten either Fisher or Herman for even those prices, but he should have tried harder and higher.
Hell with that. We should have offered Saban $12 million per. We win either way by getting him or forcing Bama to match it. Saban generates a $100 million a year for the Gumps.

So Lonnie says in his post that "trending up" in 2018 is easy to do after losing to a SBC team, get destroyed by Mississippi State and lose two others games in 2017. Plus the fact that we finished worse in the SEC in 2018 than we did in 2017, and you think his post is wrong?
2018 was trending up comparative to any of the last 4 seasons
Everything about his post is fricking dumb.

You have issues...............

I guess everyone has a different definition and it's open to interpretation. I feel what O is doing of late appears to have the program "headed in the right direction". I translate "crushing it" as actual results on the field and competing for championships (IE- beating Bama).
It's precisely that simple.....
The fact remains that Orgeron went 5-3 in SEC play and finished 3rd in the SEC West. He finished with a better conference record his first season but made a modest improvement with an overall record of 10-3. So, LSU still finished as a 3 loss team which is the same record that the AD grew tired of from the previous head coach.
Speculation and "eye candy" is what fuels many posters opinions regarding the programs current state under Orgeron. They will tout improvements everywhere from the coaching staff down to the water boy but LSU's record and placement within its own conference remains unchanged under this coach and staff.
So, saying Orgeron is "crushing it" seems a bit overblown and foolish. Saying Orgeron is doing better than the last head coach lacks validity since all that matters is wins and losses.

No he truly had a great season when you consider what experts expectations were and you have to say this was the toughest schedule we have had in a long time. Things are trending up, which is very exciting considering where it was headed over the last 6 years and the last 3 with les things were crashing quickly. Felt so much like the end of the Bowden era at Florida state

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again,, never underestimate these O hating losers that post here’s need to be right.
Look no further than threads that drag on for days until they get the acnchor with same 3-4 posters arguing the same garbage.
O isn’t going anywhere soon so they might as well learn to deal with it .

If it wasnt the standard, Les Miles would still be head coach and Ed Orgeron would still be a DL coach plotting with ponamsky down at the station.

Lol. I love when people on this board assume to know who they are talking to.

You think miles got fired cause he couldn’t beat Bama??
You’re worse than the guy above me
Do people really think that’s why Miles got fired?

Wut? It's sports. Of course it's entertainment.

You dumbass. I am not trying to draw any parallel between the two. I am simply responding like most of the negative frick sticks on here that always say about Coach O is that he lost to Troy. Every coach in America has lost to an inferior team, even your beloved Lord Saban.
