You’ll notice a lot of times when he’s telling an old story, you assume at first it’s about a Bama team but he still talks a lot about his time here.

Love him or hate him, there's no denying he was a great coach and a mastermind of the game. I'll admit, I enjoyed seeing him throw his headset and rage the few times LSU was able to beat Bama, but that is a testament to how passionate he was about winning. Knowing that he actually regretted leaving LSU for the NFL just lets me know he merely settled for the Bama gig just to get back to coaching college ball. It sure would have been nice for us to get all those NC's though.

I always under the impression, Sexton recommended Kiffin to Saban and he did not like him. He fired Kiffin and almost fired Sexton. Am I making this up or not remembering correctly?

Exactly. Yes, we all “hated” Saban after he went to Bama, for 2 reasons. We felt betrayed that he went to a rival, and he beat us almost every year. But we would have welcomed him back with open arms had he decided to leave Bama and come back.
I totally understand how Ole Miss fans feel. And despite all the horrible things they’re saying about Kiffin now, you know if he called up and said “I made a huge mistake, can I come back?” they would all celebrate.
