LSU fans don't want to hear it but you're correct, if he misses the playoffs for the 3rd str8 year, he's at a minimum on the hot seat.

DeBoer is doing exactly what Kelly did at LSU. He has taken a quality quarterback and is attempting to change his entire persona into one that does not adhere to the strengths of output at the position.
