Secretly excited? Has it really been a secret that I thought JJ
looked better running this offseason? I think Hanigriff nailed it. The best use of JJ would be situational running packages for a few plays, similar to RP, and then burn Bama or someone on a pass. It's obvious Miles laughs when asked about when we will run the wildcat. JJ is, and will continue to be, the best Wildcat option we have. I like the thought of 3 quick snap zone read plays. They're going to be very helpful vs. The big boys.

I'm calling it now. JJ does not throw a pass until the Alabama game.
I hope not. But youmare probably right. That SHOULDN'T catch them off guard though, he has been a throwing qb for 2 years.

Also, he was recruited as a pro style, so him running good is kinda neat

I have been wanting to see him play since everything I have heard in the off season.
Me too.

Glad he's back.

Still like Lee as the starter.

yea they have to let him throw the ball also for him to be effective against the better teams, otherwise they are just going to stack the box. I think he can be a very effective option to go to if used properly.

Obviously you're missing the point the OP is trying to make.

In the game last week? He sure looked faster to me, and maybe his vision Improved a little too. I know he has been running a lot.

He looked quick on the cut and had good acceleration. Will be more interesting to see how he does when it is an option.

I was very pressed with a few of his runs. Great burst. And Bama is too well coached to be shocked by a 3-year starting QB attempting a pass. He's not gonna catch them off guard. Besides, any one of our next 3 opponents could beat us. Shouldn't "save" JJs passing game. But he shouldn't throw more than a time or 2 per game unless something happens to lee.

But dreaux, I too, am excited.

It looked like he was a man on a mission. He's a guy who almost lost everything he's worked at for the last 6 yrs or so in his life.

So what would you do with a second chance at your passion??

He ran with reckless abandon and with confidence. That's what I think makes it look so much different. He hardly ever showed either of these traits last yr.

He looked the same to me. Fast straight line. No wiggle. Gets tripped up on first contact 95% of the time because of long frail legs

I am talking about a player running on a field. Just for the sake of argument, imagine no one is there.

Like the guy said...he was running thru Kentucky's defense.

I thought that he did look faster, and we have to remember, he is also deceptively fast to start with.

He improved his running ability greatly from 2009 to 2010, and he is probably faster and more powerful in 2011. He might be able to actually steamroll some DBs this season.

That defense that held LSU to 3.98ypc?
He got 8ypc if you don't count the sneak.

He looked decisive, quicker, and more fluid.

He has clearly put in the work to improve in that respect.

He looked bigger (slightly) and faster to me. Can tell he has been busting his tail. He will be a great contribution when needed.
