LSU only swept 1 SEC series in 2009 and went on to win the national championship.

LSU's next two series are against South Carolina and Kentucky who are 8-1 and 7-1 in the SEC. Don't be surprised when LSU doesn't sweep those series either.

The back half of the SEC schedule eases up considerably with Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Georgia who are 1-7, 3-5, 3-5, 1-8, and 1-7 in the SEC. There's a sweep or two on the way in May.

Sort of makes perfect sense because Tennessee has the worst Baseball Program in the Country and Sweeping them is very easy.

So easy even Missouri can do it. /s

What your basically saying is that Hurd should bot have started yesterday after his last 3 misreable outings.

Take away this(first 2 innings) and lsu wins.

Hurd should not smell another weekend.

When a team has 3 outstanding pitchers, they are able to create more sweeps. Without 3, be very very happy with 2 out of 3.

"Two out of three ain't bad," said Meatloaf.

I’m guessing one of the lower IQ areas of Livingston Parish.

It’s really hard to sweep a good team. It’s just the nature of baseball.

Would you rather a sweep or the coach try his options out to see who he can depend on during post season.

We rather know who is who before postseason and let coach figure out his staff in these early SEC games

Apparently 2-1 is the game plan. Consistent on first three SEC series. It’s good enough to hold #1 spot as well as win midweek games. 3-1 every week will keep you there.

Not true but Hurd's struggles point to a weak PAC 12 conference, I think. Yesterday was all on Hurd. However, I have questioned in the past what seems like a feeling that a series win is enough. Also, after two wins the staff sometimes wants to evaluate seldom used players which definitely can look like the coach/team doesn't do their best to sweep. Just think, even if Hurd and the staff give up SIX runs the Tigers sweep. Wasn't in the cards and too many left on certainly didn't help!

Maybe not as dumb as it sounds but I think Jay realizes that after a 2-0 series win that he might put some guys out there to get reps and try things he wouldnt normally. It is a long season and you reap what you sow. If you dont sow any seeds now then you will not have anything to reap later in the season when you need someone for a critical situation or a few games for someone who is ailing.

As bad as it looked yesterday you learn from mistakes not successes. Hopefully we learned the lessons yesterday brought.

I think later in the season you will see a more concerted direction in roster management based on what they are learning now.
