t's mind boggling how some don't understand that the players aren't protesting veterans, the national anthem or the country.

They have a right to protest, just don't sh*t on our flag to do it. Give me one example on what one of them was doing to protest racism b4 it became fashionable to kneel. One?

How many people in this thread go around taking down flags that are up at night without a light?

What about flags left up while it rains?

Both the protesters and the people that lose their mind about the protests are equally ridiculous.

You do realize that he has been doing this for 14 months now right? He and Kap were the first. Yet NOBODY was boiling mad about it back then. I sure find it ironic that during the anthem people are talking or texting on their cellphones, buying food from concession stands, and taunting the silently kneeling players.

who said anything about black & white.

The fact those thug, murderous, rogue police officers are getting away with killing anyone is asinine! Majority of people who are unarmed.

I agree that there are ways to effect change that are much better than taking a knee. BUT, you have to admit that this way IS getting attention.

the shame is that nobody listens any more; they just react and judge. many of those protestors are not disrespecting the military or the cops (their own explanation) but people close their minds and ASSUME they are. us white people need to listen. those black people need to listen. w/o that nothing good will come of it and the problems will continue to persist.

no offense, but this protest would have gone away if the media and people would just let it die. that san Francisco qb is a douche; most of the other guys are not.

Them taking a knee has nothing to do with the flag, vets or the anthem. why is that so difficult for You People to understand?

You people are insufferable. I'm sick of this even being an issue - these guys can demonstrate however they want; I honestly don't care. But the fact that some of yall get so worked up over this is pathetic.

You really should take course in American history. You might develope a greater appreciation for country you are very fortunate to be living in.

Yes I do

You act like cops are out gunning down random people who aren't armed for the hell of it

I am not saying there aren't cases where shooting was not justified but you make this out to be the persona of cops overall and its completely false. 99% of them are good people doing their jobs. You try to be a cop and deal with criminals with weapons 24/7 all the time and try to act sane

You're part of the problem. You can't discern between his "rights" and the right of others to disagree with his protest. Just because he has a "right" to protest doesn't mean others have to agree with it or support it.

Furthermore, HE DOESNT HAVE A RIGHT TO PROTEST IN HIS UNIFORM AT HIS JOB. He doesn't work for the federal government. This isn't a free speech issue either. The lack of understanding and knowledge on this board is astounding

I appreciate that the freedoms afforded to all of our citizens include the right to do something like take a knee during the playing of the national anthem. Just like it includes the right for anyone to disagree with them and voice their opinion, provided they don’t threaten their lives. Or includes the right for a private company to refrain from hiring someone because of it.
